Come to think of it, we haven’t had one of those in a while. He’s been too busy raging, especially with SCOTUS hearing birthright citizenship oral arguments. That apparently didn’t go too well for him. Plus, he was ignored, and we know how he detests that! With appreciation to Raw Story:
President Donald Trump was swiftly mocked on Tuesday after he added to his long list of “two-week” threats. During a press conference in the Oval Office, Trump was asked about when the U.S. might leave Iran following its weeks-long self-described “excursion.” The conflict began in late February after the U.S. and Israel coordinated a bombing campaign across Iran, which killed multiple political and military leaders. In return, Iran effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz, sending global energy prices soaring.
To go completely sideways, it’s hard to type when you’re watching the Artemis launch. I am more than happy to say so far, so good! And eek, lost track of time…..
Trump responded to the reporter’s question by saying the U.S. would leave in “two or three weeks.” It’s the latest time that Trump has used the phrase “two weeks” to describe when his administration will reach a major decision. Other examples include settling Russia’s war in Ukraine and his negotiations with Greenland and Denmark over control of the island nation.
Two weeks? Good grief. How can he keep forgetting all of the times he’s said 2 weeks? Nothing *ever* happens! It’s sad to say that we knew it was all a façade after the first time he said it and didn’t follow through. Maybe it’s something to do with his childhood, always being told he could do something in two weeks, but then it never happens. We could wish for 2 weeks to get out of Iran….
Political analysts and observers mocked Trump on social media. //// “‘Two weeks.’ Everybody drink!” progressive news outlet The Tennessee Holler posted on X. //// “F—,” lawyer John Collins posted on X. //// “So… never?” former Jeopardy Champion Hemant Mehta posted on X. //// “Oh, man. So, we’re gonna leave Iran the same day we get a healthcare plan and infrastructure week,” author Jeffrey Thompson posted on Bluesky. //// “Same bulls—, different decades,” journalist Jim Snowden posted on Bluesky.
Different decades? Ahahahahahaha! That’s awesome. They all are. Once again, I have a high bar to follow. I wonder if there’s such a thing as classes in snark. That would also be awesome. And it comes down to the same thing that Twit Trump always does. Nothing. This one is short because I lost my train of thought. You can see I can’t keep to one subject. I’m very chatty. Apologies!
See you soon!
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
