They should have left well enough alone. An email went out to people, one of whom was most certainly not on any Trump list at any time. For her to have received this is a sick, twisted action on someone’s part. This fundraiser should never have been sent, especially not to her. Thank you, Raw Story:

Columnist E. Jean Carroll, who a civil court found was sexually assaulted in the 1990s by President Donald Trump, was left stunned Saturday evening after having received a “love letter” from the president’s fundraising campaign, and apparently without having signed up for the mailing list. “It’s Valentine’s Day E Jean!” reads the email Carroll said she received, unsolicited, from Trump’s fundraising campaign, a lucrative operation that directs supporters to make contributions to his political action committee. “I love you, and I was pretty sure you loved me back!” On social media, Carroll shared a screenshot of the email she’d received and insisted she never signed up to receive such emails.

Good gods. What a thing to read. See me cringing and being totally squicked out by this ‘love letter’. Here’s hoping certain members of my family didn’t get it because that’s just nasty. I have never had any desire whatsoever to go anywhere near Trump and his grifting, but I would be screaming bloody murder to the high heavens if I got this! If you remember my earlier piece of today, where I said I felt slimy just typing something, well, this is exponentially worse. *ahem* moving on…

“Yes. This is a real email. No. I did not sign up on this mailing list,” Carroll wrote Saturday evening in a social media post on X. “Yes. We are living in a crazy world.” It’s unknown who signed Carroll up for Trump’s fundraising emails, but the optics of someone who was found in civil court to have been sexually assaulted by Trump receiving the “love letter” left some onlookers stunned. “This email mocking Trump’s sex assault victim E. Jean Carroll is being sent out by the official Trump campaign,” wrote liberal political commentator Brian Krassenstein to their nearly 1 million followers on X. “What a sick and twisted piece of crap.”

That’s an understatement. Now, admittedly, I figured it was a Trump thing and not a mocking thing. You could look at it either way. Nevertheless, it shouldn’t have been sent to her. Actually, it shouldn’t have been sent out at all. It’s creepy and stalkerish. We all know his history, so why should he press his luck with this? Oh, wait. He didn’t think he’d done anything wrong. Ever. To him, this was nothing.

After being found to have sexually assaulted Carroll, Trump was ordered to pay an $83 million judgment, a judgment that his legal team has been desperately trying to have overturned, and by submitting false information to the Supreme Court. Carroll first accused Trump of sexual assault in 2019, accusing him of having sexually assaulted her in a Bergdorf Goodman luxury department store in New York City, NY. Trump has repeatedly denied the accusation.

Of course, he doesn’t want to pay for this or the defamation cases. He’s managed to skate out of a couple of judgments, so he’s all self-righteous and thinks he’s not supposed to pay anything. All the money is supposed to go to him and stay with him. This orange tin god with feet of clay won’t admit anything, and still hasn’t realized how we see him. That curtain has been pulled aside. The more times he denies it, the more we know he did it. And we know about Epstein, too. He’s not invulnerable anymore.

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
