Yesterday I had all sorts of things to write about. Today, not so much. Well, let’s struggle along and see how it comes out. This is a slightly different perspective on the morons and their arrogance. They haven’t changed, no surprise there. But we have something else we don’t know if has happened before (and, of course, it very well could have). With thanks to Raw Story:
Politicians and political observers alike sounded the alarm on Saturday at a new video that purportedly shows federal immigration officers stepping in front of a car with guns drawn in an attempt to arrest a Minnesotan. David J. Bier, Cato Institute Director of Immigration Studies, flagged the video over the weekend, writing, “DHS agents in MN swerved in front of an unarmed woman who was recording them, once again WALK IN FRONT OF A CAR with guns drawn.” He then added, “The only thing they’ve learned from Renee Good is how to get away with killing people. A local cop intervened to stop the illegal arrest!”
No, they haven’t changed. They don’t care that people have already died. They’re going to keep doing the wrong things. But! A local police officer intervened on her behalf. She’s an American citizen, and the bullies were trying to arrest her. They’re getting worse. Everyone deserves to be treated as a human being. And we can be almost certain that Homan isn’t helping the situation at all. That blustering idiot is just about as clueless. “Border Czar”, feh. Bozo-ino’s removal didn’t do a damn bit of good.
Bier concluded, “The police chief got her out of the DHS vehicle as the agents who grabbed her were driving her to the DHS jail. When told that they were acting illegally, one agent just says: ‘I’m not getting into the legality of everything.'” //// That video sparked outrage among insiders on social media. //// Dem Congressman Ted Lieu wrote, “Dear @DHSgov: What was the basis for drawing guns on this American and for arresting her? Why did agents then later release her without charges?” //// Politico alum Carla Marinucci called it “Horrifying.”
It really was too much to hope that they would pull out. As expected, it was words with no action behind them. There doesn’t seem to be a way to force them out, either. Even the weather hasn’t done it. Since they are *federal* hooligans, not sure whether the local or state police could get them out, either. We’re stuck.
Even far-right legal commentator Ed Whelan asked DHS, “What did she do that warranted three officers pointing their guns at her?” “Sincere question. There might be a good answer,” he then added. “But absent one, this approach sure seems thuggish.” //// Columnist Michael A. Cohen chimed in with, “The level of unprofessionalism and needless escalation in this video is simply astonishing.” //// Forbes contributor Mark Joyella added, “Nothing about this even vaguely resembles law enforcement. This is roaming gangs of untrained thugs with marching orders to generate maximum fear.”
Untrained, unrestrained thugs. It’s impossible to imagine what made these people the way they are, sociopaths, how they so easily became power-drunk. When they’re told all bets are off, no guardrails, have fun? They can terrorize *anyone*. It doesn’t matter who you are. They can come after you when they feel like it, let alone if you’re doing something potentially illegal. How in the hell do you fight against *that*? We don’t need or want our country to accept these morons and their lawless actions. We don’t want this to become business as usual. Is there anything that can stop them?
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise that among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest-working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. Trump, 79!, could stop them, but who’s going to stop him? Hey, Repubs, get in there and stop that SOB. Do something good for your constituents and for the world: sacrifice your cushy job and oust Trump, 79! You’ve done bupkis the whole year. 300 million people are counting on you.
If only it was that easy to get Republicans to wake the eff up! If they fight back against Trump and happen to lose at the midterms, well, blaze of glory. It would be worth it!
You don’t have to be doing anything wrong, that’s the point of these clowns. Remember the disabled woman who was pulled from her car? She was on her way to a doctor’s appointment when she ran afoul of these gestapo!
I certainly remember that and had a quiet, raging fit about it. Even now words fail me about that gem. W T A F.
