Okay, super-MAGA people are upset here while the rest of us are breathing a huge sigh of relief about Bozo-ino having to leave (I have been unable to confirm he has been demoted). Took me three tries to really understand these people are *serious*!!!! You wouldn’t think there are people in America like this, except then we look at ICE and CBP and Oath Keepers and Proud Boys and J6 insurrectionists and so forth. We shouldn’t have to remember all of these, and my fingers said, “Okay, here ya go,” and *poof* names. Nasty. With thanks to Raw Story:
When reports emerged that President Donald Trump’s administration is demoting and reassigning Border Patrol enforcer Greg Bovino from his current role presiding over the crackdown in Minneapolis, the decision was largely met with sighs of relief from legal observers — but a howl of fury and frustration from MAGA voices. Bovino’s ignominious exit comes after a second high-profile killing by federal agents in the Twin Cities, this time of local nurse Alex Pretti after he tried to intervene as agents were assaulting a woman. A number of Republicans have expressed alarm at the justification from DHS that he was carrying a legally registered firearm, and several GOP lawmakers called for an investigation.
Yes. There was no *legitimate* reason for them to kill him. Having Bovino in Minneapolis means all bets are off, and the moronic thugs can have a field day. That’s exactly what’s been happening. Mr. Pretti tried to protect someone and, essentially, died for it. Sure, ranting may not do any good except for blowing off steam so we can think again, but it’s still something. We can (and have) participated in protests where we live, and that’s something, too.
The reporting is at least partially disputed by the Department of Homeland Security, with Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin insisting Bovino “has NOT been relieved of his duties” and remains in his current position, even though he is leaving Minneapolis. Nonetheless, Republican influencers remain angry. Many of the reactions, which accuse Trump of capitulating to a woke mob, were compiled by Paul E. Williams, the executive director of the Center for Public Enterprise.
Everyone has a right to be angry. The problem is that comments spread far and wide, even when they’re not specific, and then get blown out of proportion. *We* are also angry. But this kind of anger is disturbing, at least to me. It’s one reason to stay off social media, even though it would be useful to be on it, because things like this piss me off.
“So Trump caves yet again,” wrote the account “Washingtons ghost.” //// “…WHAT?!!!!!!!!” posted Matt Van Swol, a former liberal influencer who was radicalized by far-right disaster aid conspiracy theories in 2024. “Is this real? No way, please tell me it’s not real.” //// To which Nick Sortor, a fellow MAGA influencer who is known for getting into street brawls, replied, “It’s real. The administration has sidelined Bovino. I urge them to reconsider immediately. We don’t have time to play around.” //// “Why are they doing this!” raged another prominent GOP commentator, “Gunther Eagleman.” “He was doing a great job. His support numbers were rising.” //// Sortor replied, “Because Bovino was ‘too harsh‘ on deportations, apparently. I disagree. I think he should’ve been HARSHER.”
That last one is what made me blow my stack. Harsher? Excuse me? Well, kiddies, if they want to be harsher, go join ICE or CBP. Then they can “harsher” all they want since that’s the theme for those moronic thugs. It won’t solve anything. Maybe they can help ‘disappear’ immigrants. Sounds right up their alley. It’s just stunning to read something like this. Consider the source, right? We’ll just have to wait and see. Speaking of, see you soon!.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

Harsher?
They’re KILLING people!
How can they get harsher?
By some sort of torture, by making their death longer?
For Chrissakes, where are these people from?
That is exactly what made me blow my stack! You can’t *get* harsher than death!
I don’t know where they’re from. That’s why I thought they should go join ICE because money and then no guardrails so they can be “harsher” all they want. (With any luck, that might change. I can hope but I don’t expect it. The blowups in Minneapolis are making a LOT of people look very, VERY bad.) They won’t want to risk their skins. Big words are still just words.
“How can they get harsher?” By killing more.
Oof. I was trying not to think about that. I really don’t want to see this explode.
