Nothing like being unable to wake up for an extra 9 hours to give yourself a weird sense of time. This is my morning when it’s everyone else’s evening. But! Here is a bit of good news, and let’s hope that something comes out of it. The rest of the news is unsettling, so let’s start with the good thing first. With thanks to Raw Story+(subscription required for plus):

A bipartisan group of senators is calling for a full investigation into the shooting that left a U.S. citizen dead in Minneapolis on Wednesday. A 37-year-old mother named Renee Good was gunned down by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jonathan Ross on Wednesday morning as Good was trying to leave an immigration raid in her car. Trump administration officials quickly labeled the act as “domestic terrorism,” claiming Good incited officers and weaponized her car to take their lives. Videos taken during the event, as well as interviews with witnesses and Good’s ex-husband, all contradict the Trump administration’s version of the story.

Has anyone mentioned yet that she has a 6-year-old son? How is *he* feeling right now, with all the cowflops that are coming out of Washington and mostly from a single person, that’s not Trump? You have to know some of that crap is going to leak down to him. How many times will people have to tell him she was NOT at fault before he believes it? That’s just hell on earth, not just for him, but for *everyone* who saw it. One small good thing is that Kristi Gnome shouldn’t be able to find all of them to squelch the truth, or we can hope so. She’s an entirely different upcoming column.

The shooting outraged some lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) said it was the latest example that the agency has become ungovernable. “I want to be very clear about this: ICE is out of control!” Rosen told Raw Story. She added that the ICE agent who shot Good put the public in danger by not disabling the vehicle first. Videos show Good’s car careening toward a nearby parked vehicle after the fatal shooting. Law enforcement experts have also pointed out that the Department of Homeland Security policy prohibits officers from shooting at moving vehicles. Good was driving away from the scene when the fatal shots were fired.

Uhoh, Spaghettios! That’s a couple of things right there. ICE, ICE, Baby is the problem with their horsepuckies. Apparently, *they* can break laws. She was *in motion*. The car could have run into bystanders, albeit at an apparent *very* low speed, while trying to get out of a parking place and then stopping for someone at an intersection. But still, the car was moving when she was murdered shot.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) told Raw Story that the FBI needs to conduct a full investigation of the scene. He also pushed back on assertions that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem had “made a judgment” in the case, even though she said at a press conference on Wednesday that the shooting was an “attempt to kill or to cause bodily harm to agents, an act of domestic terrorism.” “She said we’re going to wait until the FBI gets an investigation,” Grassley said. “She’s going to say the FBI is going to investigate.” (We all know what *that* Ka$h cop horseflop is going to say.) Other top Democratic Senators like Brian Schatz of Hawaii and Dick Durbin of Illinois expressed outrage over the shooting. Durbin noted that holding ICE accountable will be difficult because Noem, the Cabinet secretary who oversees the agency, “thinks she’s above the law.” “She doesn’t care,” Durbin told Raw Story.

[Harm to agents? I wasn’t told of any plurality of ICE agents screwing around. The few pictures I’ve dared look at show one. No, still not going to watch any video. There are others who can tell me and you about it. But what do I know? On with the story!]

No, she doesn’t. This is the fourth article I’ve found on Raw Story since last night. The FOURTH. She keeps changing her story when different information comes in. The FBI is going to investigate? Sheeeeeizzle. They’re going to cover it up because another member of Trump’s scurvy cabinet needs it. Trump is all supportive of her and ICE, as expected. There’s one other thing that just occurred to me. They’ve released the name of the agent who murdered Renee. We can guess that was a bad, bad idea. The tensions are running hot and high, and I’ll bet there are people much more able to dig around and find him than I am. Me? Just a writer. (By the way, there’s another paragraph.)

I only noticed one Republican speaking out. That’s one more than we saw yesterday. Haven’t seen anything from the rest of them, House or Senate. One would think they would be scrambling to spin this as a “horrible tragedy.” Crickets. And cicadas. But no comments. If *I* thought of this, why haven’t the rest of them? Well, Moses Mikey just has to parrot what Trump said, “squawk, squawk.” The House’s silence is, sadly, to be expected right now. Just wait til November. But we could have expected more from the Senate except for Mr. Grassley. Apparently, it’s bipartisan if you have one person from the opposition. Trump & Co are trying to spin this, trying to minimize it, trying to hide it. Just like Epstein, I doubt this will go away easily. We can hope, right? And me? Just a writer.

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. Johnathan Ross has a history of bad, misguided, and thoughtless decisions. No surprises there. When this regime is over, many people will be facing murder charges.

But I’ll wager not until then, in the meantime the lie generators will be at full spin.

    As we see now.

    • I have three pieces where Krispi Gnome is saying different things. I’m trying to figure out how to stitch them together. I have also been told that Minneapolis Police have been told they *cannot* investigate. It just gets better and better, and stranger, and stranger. There was also a rumor around that she was going to try and charge the woman that was killed with domestic terrorism. HUH????!!!!! There’s a Constitutional problem with that, plus she’d get slapped out of the courtroom for wasting the grand juries’ and possibly judge’s time. I would sell tickets to that show, or at least bring the popcorn.

Also, did not know there was that much information about dude. Hrmm.

And Jack Smith could revive his cases. H0 h0 h0. Well, assuming Trump lives that long. I kinda hope he does just to see that happen. If he does he won’t have a mind left so it’s obviously pointless, but DAMN.

  2. I’m hoping the House will flip even before November with resignations and (who knows?) defections. If that happens, committee leadership will also flip and a barrage of subpoenas will come flying out that could set the stage for impeachments. I was just watching Rep. Garcia on Meidas, who hinted that they have new material that links the Mar-a-Lago spa to Epstein’s ring. Are there some ex-towel girls out there who are willing to come forward, and wouldn’t that give you-know-who some sleepless nights?
