Oh, yes, you already know who this is about. But a well-said article shows more than we would think. He can’t stand it when his fee-fees are hurt. We, on the other hand, love it when he whines about something small because he can’t stand being told he is a moron, he can’t stand comedy against him, and he can’t stand being fact-checked. Let’s bring you something fun. It’s time for the show! With thanks to AlterNet:
Former GOP Communications Director Tara Setmayer whacked President Donald Trump’s 2025 attack on comedians and entertainment as a sign of a weak man on MS NOW’s “The Weekend.” “He’s done [this] from day one,” said Setmayer. “He went after the media, calling them the ‘enemy of the people,’ which was straight out of the dictator playbook that we’ve seen from the 1930s and 40s with Mussolini and Hitler. This is exactly what strongmen do. And Donald Trump is the most thin-skinned, boring whiner. He is a whiner in chief. He whines constantly about anyone who dares to say anything negative about him, yet he tries to portray that he’s this big, tough guy. Really? Because that doesn’t sound like someone who is a well-adjusted adult who can handle criticism.”
Now you see where the title came from. It was too good to pass up, and we should continue using it whenever we can. Every time he whines and boasts and blathers, remember he’s the whiner-in-chief. His cabinet tries to protect him and hide the criticism, but something will always slip through. It gives him fuel to be outraged by something the rest of us would laugh at and brush off. We have some damn good comedians here, from someone like Jimmy Kimmel to South Park. Any time he whines about something like this, count it as a win for our side.
Setmayer spoke directly to Trump’s Christmas Eve threat to terminate the broadcast licenses of networks featuring comedians who are “negative to President Donald J. Trump.” “He doesn’t care about the Constitution. He doesn’t care about the freedoms that we enjoy. Here he is carrying out his dictator fantasies because he’s surrounded by people who are a bunch of yes men and women who are letting him do whatever the hell he wants,” ranted Setmayer.
Ranted? Sounds familiar. Ha! Rants are fun and generally informative, or at least try to be, here, when the perfect opportunity arises, whether in fun or in anger. Getting back to the article, Tara said some really succinct things that we need to remember again. He’s going for dictator. And he’s getting there. He has the Supreme Court in his pocket, ready to do his bidding. He has control of Congress because most Republicans fear speaking out against him. He’s suing organizations right and left, on trumped-up charges, to get them to bow down and settle with him for money in his pocket. Lawyers, universities, networks.
“They come for the arts. That’s one of the things that strongmen and authoritarian governments do. They come for the arts and comedy because it’s a freedom of expression. And they want to control all of that.” She also blasted Trump as “a failed wannabe Broadway producer … living his fantasies out with the Kennedy center desecration.” “And now with the late-night [comedy] hosts and the fact that they are able to make fun of him — we all know that his being mocked is one of the worst things ever, which is why we continue to do it. So, keep mocking him. And too damn bad if he doesn’t like it,” Setmayer said.
SCORCHED. Too damn bad is wonderful. He can’t control everything all the time. The Kennedy Center is a ghost of itself. People don’t want to perform there anymore. He managed to get one comedian fired, but only one. This is where outrage works against him (see: Jimmy Kimmel). And may I mention No Kings? He whines and carries on, making stupid AI videos that only deepen our disgust for him. He can’t take the heat, *any* heat. If Pz ever came to his attention, which is 99.9% not going to happen, he’d whine about us. Let him. It only shows how weak he is when he insists he’s strong. [By the way, that picture? The Trump Baby Balloon has been added to the Museum of London Collection. Shows what the UK thinks of him. That *really* says something.]
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money, especially around the holidays. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

i love that balloon.
If they could make that in a size for one person and came over here oooooo they could make some money! But no, we must admire from afar….
