I’m back! Didja miss me? (Ha.) And now back to our regularly scheduled opening. Started off checking Raw Story for the side stories that don’t get as much attention, because the other writers here handle the big news so much better. The first thing seen is this bullpocky about what Trumpy did in honor (what a way to put it) of the mass shootings over the weekend. About spit coffee on my monitor. Unbelievable. From, of course, Raw Story:

President Donald Trump authored a post on Truth Social on Sunday that included a photo of the president posing in front of a large painting of the assassination attempt against his life in Butler, Pennsylvania, in 2024, after a wave of deadly shootings over the weekend. Three mass shootings took place over the weekend. In Australia, two gunmen killed 16 people and wounded 40 others at a Hanukkah celebration outside of Sydney. Another gunman killed two students and wounded nine others at Brown University. Meanwhile, a shooter in Syria who is believed to be an ISIS infiltrator killed two American soldiers and one citizen.

You see? Height of tacky. What the hell good is *that* going to do? It’s all a façade to make him appear to be something we all very much know he is not. He doesn’t give a damn about anyone but himself. He’s just pretending. We can’t even be sure MAGA believes him anymore. It’s sickening. And he endangered the students by saying the shooter was in custody when he very much was NOT! A couple of them posted on X, asking people, please do not believe Trump. Wait for it. It gets even better.

Trump addressed the shootings during a speech he made at a Christmas party at the White House on Sunday. “I want to pay my respects to the people,” Trump said during the speech, adding that the deceased were “looking down on us right now from heaven.”

Oh my lawd have mercy and gag me with a spoon. A speech at a CHRISTMAS PARTY. Looking down from heaven. He doesn’t give a damn about any religion at all (see: Pope Leo telling him to get stuffed, but politely). Dunno about you, but that about blew the top of my head off. Some families are going to have the worst Christmases of their *lives*. Then…..

A few hours after the speech, Trump posed in front of the painting of his assassination attempt, painted by Florida artist Marc Lipp. “In the lobby of our beautiful White House!” the post reads.

Speechless. Infuriated. Venomous. Sickened. Disgusted. Fatmania. There are not enough words to describe the feelings those last 2 lines brought about. What do we need to do to get rid of this guy?

Friends, I know everyone begs you for money, especially during the holidays. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula
