From the seriousness of healthcare to the humor of something I found by accident, but isn’t that usually the way? MTG is retiring from Congress. That’s still astonishing. Kudos to her for standing up against Trump and her guts for deciding when *she* was going to go. It wasn’t decided for her. Those are the only 2 things even remotely good about this woman. You still have to give her that. However, she is always looking ahead and playing the long game. It should be amusing, at the very least, to see what she does next. Maybe Trump Space Lasers?
With any luck, this will give Republicans enough horrible press so Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff will easily be re-elected in Georgia. He’s done it before. He will do it again. But anyhow, here’s a little something about Marjorie Taylor Greene, that’s quite entertaining on a day when time is going by too fast for me. From Raw Story:
The New York Sun reports that former aides and allies of President Donald Trump are welcoming Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) to their growing fold of political figures whose careers have ended after crossing Trump. “As I like to say … welcome to the under the bus club,” said Trump’s one-time lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, in a CNN interview shortly after Greene announced she would step down from Congress in January. “She is joining a very large group of people, and I, as the charter membership director, welcome her to the club.”
I about fell over laughing. What a great way to say something like that! It’s so, so appropriate. Under the bus club. She’s in good company. Trump will be rage posting if he ever finds out about this (which I doubt, but…) because we all know he does NOT like being laughed at, and this is definitely that. His “cabinet” will likely be very careful that he does not find out. They haven’t had to duck many ketchup bottles lately, at least not that we know of.
The Sun reports other members of that club include former lawmaker Liz Cheney, who lost a primary in her home state of Wyoming after voting to impeach Trump, and Vice President Pence, who lost Trump’s support after certifying the result of the 2020 election. Other prominent Republicans remarking on Greene’s decision include Meghan McCain, who became an outspoken Trump critic after the president disparaged the military service of her father, late Arizona senator John McCain. Greene joins at least 10 Republican legislators who have broken with Trump and either retired or resigned since Trump entered office.
Trump has to think he must be sitting pretty in the White House, gloating over the people he thinks he’s destroyed, with Marjorie being the latest. He hasn’t destroyed them. They made choices to say “ENOUGH”. Now it’s even easier for them to stand up to him, because they are showing his control is no longer absolute. It should make a lot of people in this country sit up and take notice. He may be president, but he’s really just an aging, bitter man. Now MTG can let him have it, too, and if one of his biggest fans is now his enemy? All the better. Trump doesn’t see what’s lurking in the shadows. You go girl.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

That is, if you take her conversion seriously. I saw a report online that a body language expert says that her apology was insincere. I wouldn’t trust her as far as I could pick her up and throw her.
That was why I said she plays the long game. Of course it was insincere. But most people won’t realize that. I just thought the “under the bus club” was hilarious. We’ll see what happens in the next month and a few weeks. It should be fascinating 😉
