Well now. It seems there is unrest in Republican ranks. They’re as unhappy as Dems are, for being out of session so long. At this point, Moses Mikey needs to get the House in session and quit waving his tiny dick around. Enough is enough. And we can’t reopen the government without the House there. So, what is he thinking anyhow? The Senate can’t do it by itself. Democrats are standing firm on health credits. The Republicans taketh away and the Republicans can giveth. Come ON, Mikey. House Democrats working in Washington this week have been scolding their Republican counterparts for remaining in their home districts during the shutdown instead of doing the people’s business in the nation’s capital. Now, even some Republicans are beginning to question Speaker Mike Johnson’s strategy — and to side with Democrats — saying they, too, should be back in D.C. “During a private conference call with House Republicans on Thursday, at least three GOP lawmakers — Reps. Stephanie Bice of Oklahoma, Jay Obernolte of California, and Julie Fedorchak of North Dakota — raised concerns about the House remaining out of session next week, according to a source on the call,” MSNBC reported on Thursday.
Ha. How about that? There are Republicans who can actually think. They’re looking at all the work they want to get done. Moses Mikey isn’t letting them do that. They’re looking at the way they appear to the people of America, and they don’t like it. They’re getting embarrassed by their wimpy, puny “leader”. There is unrest from his own people. His. Own. People.
“I think we’re gonna get to a point where it’s damaging to continue to keep the House out of session,” Obernolte told his fellow Republicans. “I think we’ve gotten to that point.” Obernolte “said keeping lawmakers home would make it look like House Republicans are ‘prioritizing politics over government,’ according to the source.” On Sunday, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries told “Meet the Press” that he had not spoken to GOP leadership for at least a week, Politico reported. “Republicans, including Donald Trump, have gone radio silent,” Jeffries said.
Up until now, indeed, they have. But a few have noticed. It’s a start, and a badly needed one. It needs to “snowball rolling downhill” fast. It makes one wonder just how much pressure is needed to get (force?) Moses Mikey to bring the House back to work. If we could get more Republicans on this, it just might work. But we don’t completely know how his mind works. We have a good idea, yes, but this is uncharted territory. The last shutdown was *caused* by Trump. In a way, this one was too, but only peripherally. This one was caused by Democrats holding firm on healthcare and not being willing to fund the government until the cuts from the Big Ugly Bill were reversed. Obviously, Republicans don’t want to do that, since they are the ones who put them in the thing in the first place!
The hardliners wanted cuts, so that’s one of the things that got knifed out. Why in the hell do they have to have all this money for ICE? Why do they have to have all this money for other places that they had to cut from things that American citizens depend on? ACA. Medicare. Medicaid. Those got cut all to hell and back. They didn’t think about their constituents. They didn’t think about MAGA and their people having trouble. MAGA supports Trump. Well, there is dissension in the ranks there, too. They got hit just as hard as blue states. Red states got hit, too. The cuts didn’t save the red states but cut the blue. It doesn’t work that way. Whoa. That just went sideways. Well, only sort of sideways. Moving on.
On Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern told reporters Republicans need to “show up.” “You know,” the Massachusetts Democrat said, “Republicans love to advocate for more work requirements for poor people, people on SNAP. People on Medicaid. Well, I got an idea. Let’s have a work requirement for Republicans to show up to Congress and do your g—— job.” “I mean, millions of people are about to lose their healthcare,” McGovern continued. “This is a serious crisis we’re in, and we can avoid it. We can avoid people losing their health care, we can keep the government open. They need to show up.”
BOOM. There it is. They need to show up. Moses Mikey is getting some serious pushback, and it’s about time. If he’s that afraid of the Epstein files, it almost makes one wonder if he’s in them, but that’s extremely unlikely. (It would be hilarious if he was.) No, he doesn’t want to piss off his boss, who we *know* is in them because of Blondi bullshizzle and 1,000 agents to review files. They shouldn’t have let that get out, because it proves what Trump so vehemently denies. Moses Mikey needs to bite the bullet, bring them back, swear in Ms. Grijalva, and deal with it. Just hope that none of the Republicans who signed on changes their mind. Congress needs to be back in session and doing their goddamn work. Their people are suffering! Come on, Mikey. Get over your sorry ass self!
