This column was a joy to write! It involves someone we love to hate, and he finally betrayed himself with it. That’s almost the best part. He did this to *himself*. Speaking the truth is not normal for the people in the White House and the cabinet. This time, he was different. He’s going to be catching hell for it. We all know it, and there is no sympathy for it. This time, he spun himself into actuality, the plans that are being enacted. Now? We know. We. Know. One more time, from Raw Story:
Political observers blasted White House senior aide Stephen Miller’s bizarre claim during a CNN interview about the scope of President Donald Trump’s powers. During an interview with CNN, Miller claimed that Trump has “plenary authority,” meaning he has complete and absolute power on immigration and domestic law enforcement matters, despite what courts have ruled. After making the claim, Miller appeared to freeze on camera.
He froze. Stephen Miller FROZE. Shouldn’t have let that one out, Stevy Boy. Too late now. And it’s being spread far and wide through social media. He’s not going to be able to make this one go away. Nope. We now have “official” proof of what they’re trying to do. Sounds like a dictatorship, doncha know. Ha. Many of us would be happy to see him go down in flames about some (read: all) of the things Miller has done. This writer certainly would.
Observers shared their responses to the clip on social media. //// “They’re going for full-scale dictatorship,” Democratic analyst Wajahat Ali posted on Bluesky. //// “Oh this is not great,” political commentator Molly Jong Fast posted on Bluesky. //// “Looks like the US is heading towards dictatorship openly,” military veteran John Topham posted on Bluesky.
Yup. Dictatorship. This is not a good thing. We already know Trump is trying to cancel midterm voting. He wants to stay in power. And Miller is enabling him, especially with all the bullshizzle he posts on social media. Miller is flat-out crazy. How he got married, we’ll never know, because none of us can see anything good in him. Oh, gee, guess I shouldn’t make personal remarks about that. Awww. As you saw already, people noticed this and are spreading it.
Did you know there’s a new No Kings protest planned for October 18th? I just found out yesterday. My husband and I intend to go, but if it’s in downtown Atlanta, that will be a major challenge. We are hoping for something up here. All this is leading to the hope that some of you will be able to go. If you do, I would love to hear about it! So now that this went sideways, let’s get back to Miller. Here. Have some more comments.
“Invoking Trump as having ‘plenary authority/powers’ is a prelude to fascist takeovers in many other authoritarian regimes,” Eric Feigl-Ding, chair of the New England Complex Systems Institute, posted on X. //// “Stephen spilled the beans live on TV and this is what Hitler did with the Enabling Act of 1933,” political pundit Mark Bloand posted on X. //// “Miller is full of it,” ethics lawyer Richard Painter posted on X. “Federal statutes strictly limit use of the military for domestic law enforcement, and @POTUS does not have ‘plenary authority’ to do anything he wants to do.”
WHAM. This is what you get, Stevy Boy. Speak the truth, and you will get blasted twice as hard because we know what you are doing. And now we really know. Can’t unsay this one. He can try to spin it, but it won’t work. He said this on live TV, not social media. That should mean a much wider audience saw this. He’ll certainly go back to his usual bullshizzle tomorrow. This? This is already out. No sympathy here. Sorry not sorry. [EDIT: hope all this made sense.]
Friends, I know everyone asks you for money. I promise you, of all the outlets asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the chance to keep telling the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

In what has got to be one of the most deliciously ironic twists that did not originate from the minds of M Night Shyamalan or O Henry, the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize is Maria Corina Machado, the Venezuelan opposition leader who’s spent several years working against current President/Dictator Nicolás Maduro. The specific reason for Machado’s win, as given by the Nobel Committee? Here’s where the irony comes in: “For her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.” Meanwhile, the US, under #DementiaDonald Drumpf is undermining democratic rights for the people of the US and is facing an unjust and underhanded transition from democracy to dictatorship.
Maga whines saying he deserves it because he hasn’t killed all of us yet…and yet he could. Just ignore the million plus dead people he’s already sent to the hereafter.
This is nothing. I watched. It was the sound that went out. Is he evil though – absolutely.
The sound did not go out. Miller just suddenly froze after uttering the words “plenary power.” . Froze for a long, long time. The interviewer thought t was something technical but it wasn’t.
Figuring out which of these fascists to despise the most can be a challenge. It’s generally Cheeto, but all too often, one of his sycophants pops their head up and says something so utterly loathsome that my attention is diverted to them for a short time. Cheeto is still number one with a bullet, but Stevey Boy has a pretty hard lock on second, also with a bullet.
