Telling everyone in the world someone wants something is not exactly conducive to actually getting it. As a matter of fact, it tends to have quite the opposite effect, and makes that thing further away, not closer. Then, going directly to the source and lobbying for your own personal thing? That’s what gets it to go from maybe down to no, no, HELL NO. But of course, some people never think about some things. They just want it and think they should have it. President Donald Trump’s campaign to secure a Nobel Peace Prize is being greeted with widespread skepticism in Europe, the Financial Times reported Wednesday. “Nobody has campaigned for a Nobel Peace Prize quite like Donald Trump. The US president has been brazen and unrelenting in his quest for one of the world’s most prestigious honours, saying it would be a ‘big insult’ were he not to receive it. Despite his persistent efforts, many in Oslo believe he has little real chance of claiming the award next week,” the report noted.
There you go. Trump just won’t give up his idea of a Peace Prize, and he’s not done one thing to actually come close to deserving it. If he can stop Israel from committing genocide in Gaza, that might be a tiny trickle of hope. That isn’t likely to happen. Remember, he makes the big talk and doesn’t make the big walk, to paraphrase a common saying. TACO. He has done nothing anywhere else to deserve one, either.
He’ll stop the Russia-Ukraine war in one day. Talks but doesn’t walk. There are other conflicts he hasn’t even touched, but he ended 7, no 10, no … hmmm … wars. Now he’s pushing his luck by bombing Venezuelan boats that he says are running drugs. There’s no damn way that can be proven, even before he blew them up. We’re heading *into* a war with them. It’s something the American people don’t want, but when has he ever listened to us? (see: tariffs.) Don’t forget about the bullshizzle “war within”. Good gods.
According to the report, Trump has publicly and privately lobbied the Norwegian Nobel Committee, hoping to be named laureate. But insiders in Norway say his overt requests have done more harm than good. One unnamed European diplomat told the Financial Times that Trump’s decision to rename the U.S. Department of Defense the “Department of War” only deepened doubts about his candidacy, observing that his winning would “send out a strange signal.” The diplomat added, “It has been hard to take some of his proclamations seriously.”
Welcome to the world of the American people, folks. We have to deal with this every damn day. EVERY day. The lies are always coming thick and fast. He should get together with his buddy Epstein’s procurer, and they can practice lying together. He always lies. When he’s called out on them with proof of what he said, he insists it’s a “hoax” or a “witch hunt”. His memory is already shot. He may not remember something he said 5 minutes later. He blusters and obfuscates or goes off on something completely irrelevant to what’s actually being discussed. His consistency is that he’s inconsistent.
The 2025 Peace Prize will be based primarily on achievements during 2024, before Trump resumed office. Trump has claimed the Nobel Committee is hostile toward him. Critics in Norway warn that Trump’s open lobbying may be counterproductive. Nina Græger, director of the Peace Research Institute Oslo, told the Financial Times, “Putting pressure on the committee, going on talking about ‘I need the prize, I’m the worthy candidate’ — it’s not a very peaceful approach.”
They do not give out the Nobel prizes like someone giving out candy at Halloween. It doesn’t work like that. A person has to *deserve* it. With all his public asking, and nothing to back it up, he’s done nothing to deserve a Peace prize. He hasn’t ended *any* conflicts. He thinks there is a war within his own country! No, no, he does not deserve a Peace prize. He never will.

Give the guy a break! He stopped the war between Albania and Azerbaijan, for Christ’s sake. In fact he did it so fast they never even knew they were a war.

There’s a long-standing ethos within the Nobel Committee which states that overt candidacy for a Peace (or any other) Prize means instant refusal to even consider it. The way to a Nobel Prize is by doing something meritorious without any mention or even faint suggestion of wanting one. Trumpler, of course, couldn’t possibly comprehend such subtlety nor such an altruistic approach to work and reward. He’s the spoiled toddler in the room: I want it, gimme it. Thankfully, Donald has no clout with the Nobel organisation, he can’t intimidate the members nor threaten their families. They won’t be rude to him; they won’t even mention him. That failure to give him a spotlight is the worst punishment they could inflict on his fragile infantile ego.
