Here we are with one of the other stories to come out of Petey Boy’s ranting and raving, and screaming at Quantico. It’s not pretty, but then, we weren’t expecting anything but disgust to come out of it. Yes, he had one or two good points, but he had others that were terrible for any number of reasons. Let’s hear about it, shall we? From Raw Story:

According to retired United States Army Lt. General Mark Hertling, there is a strong possibility that members of the military leadership who listened to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s controversial speech in Quantico, Virginia, walked away planning ways to ignore some of his demands. Speaking with the co-hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Hertling, who earlier claimed Donald Trump was “rattled” by the cool response from the military professionals in attendance, said what Hegseth was ordering them to do would violate the oath they took in the service of their country.

Yea no. There’s the biggest one. Violate their oath? Not going to happen, not now, not ever. Did Hegseth write his speech using AI (to go along with Trump’s racist videos)? Because you would think someone who was retired military would know better! Apparently, he’s so puffed up with his own importance that he thinks the military should do what *he* wants, not what’s actually correct. He’s not that important. He really isn’t. What our military is *doing* is important.

“But truthfully, those individuals will leave that room or left that room and they’ll start discussing and analyzing how they can implement some of the lawful orders that they got,” he said to the hosts. “You know, okay, great, we can buck up the standards. We can take a look at the kinds of things to get some soldiers, not all, certainly not even the majority, back in better shape. Take a look at what our ranks look like.”

Okay, sure, there were some legitimate, if excessive, points made. The height is excessive. But weight and PT, ok, less excessive, but still excessive. Fat troops. Fat generals. Oh, brother. He lectured on this, as if he were talking to a group of potential recruits that hadn’t even been signed on yet. That’s just insulting. And this was broadcast!

“But there were also soldiers and, well, all ranks of services, in that audience that said, wait a minute. When they were writing down the same kind of checklist that I was writing down, saying, Wait a minute, we can’t do that, or we shouldn’t do that, or this is a true violation of what we are as professionals, or hey, I’ve got women in my ranks who are performing admirably. Why should I kind of lump them all together like the secretary did? Or I’m certainly now going to debate with myself, what am I going to say if I’m asked to go on the street and conduct illegal actions?

“That’s the worst part of all this. You know, there’s a saying in the military that’s a great leadership dictum: ‘You praise in public and you discipline in private.’ This was a disciplinary approach in public with cameras, so the whole nation could see. And it was an attempt at separating the military institution from the people that they defend.”

It certainly seems that way. New members of the military come from the people they defend. Hegseth seemingly wants that to be impossible with excessive and illegal demands. Well, okay, Petey Boy, where *will* they come from? Out of the sky? Or do they have to train from the day they’re born to meet your “standards”? Seriously, folks, what is wrong with this yahoo that he can only rant and rave and threaten and NOT THINK?

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thank you. Ursula

  1. A LOT of our soldiers were fit in the Vietnam war and quite a few were hooked on opium and heroin including when they came back to the states. The generals are big people not fat. There’s a difference.

    • Maybe Drunken Petey should order the C-in-C to abide by the same physical standards being directed to the troops. After all, if he’s going to make cracks about the generals, the same DEFINITELY applies to his Lardness. Drumpf is NOWHERE close to the weight he claims (he passed that point on the scale and hasn’t looked back–it’s pretty much the same vanity we heard about Jerry on “Seinfeld” where we learn that he buys jeans that fit him but changes the waist size on all of them to say “31”) and he’s NEVER going to get back there without a serious health crisis scaring his butt into making the necessary changes. Something like a massive coronary requiring a triple bypass and that MIGHT prompt him to cut back to just a single cheeseburger and a small order of fries.

  2. Contrast this audience reaction with that of General Keane, on FUX NEws: he was full of praise for Hegseth, said it wasn’t unusual to gather top brass together for a chinwag, thought that Hegseth’s performance was terrific and motivational. So then I find out, much to my surprise, that Gen Keane’s the chairman of the well-respected Institute for the Study of War. I have now cancelled my subscription to ISW’s newsletters.

  3. Hey Otis,(town drunk on the Andy Griffith show), it’s difficult for serious officers to listen to a drunk punk like you. Their oath is to the Constitution…not to you or orangebob shitpants. Try to remember. I’m sure you’ve lost enough time during your blackouts.
