She is blaming “leftists” for the shooting in Dallas. She’s not being at all subtle about it, even though she can actually be subtle (Hello, Corey Lewandowski), but obviously not very often. Trump must be laughing his fool head off, considering she did something (essentially) for him and goes after people he sees as blocking his way to absolute power. They are “leftists”. From Raw Story:
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) tore into the Department of Homeland Security at a news conference on Friday for posting a lengthy press release blaming Democratic politicians for the shooting in Dallas that appeared to be directed at Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, and killed several detainees in custody. “DHS is calling on the media, leftist groups, and sanctuary politicians to end their demonizing DHS law enforcement,” said the press release. “This hateful rhetoric is inspiring political violence in our country and assaults against our brave DHS law enforcement.”
Heh. If ICE weren’t being a pain in the ass everywhere, dragging people from where they work, off streets in broad daylight, from their HOMES, this possibly wouldn’t be happening. But they are also drunk on power, hiding their faces and reveling in their anonymity, because almost anyone can apply to ICE and be accepted, so no one will know who is beating up on an immigrant. Thugs love this power to be unknown. They all can essentially do what they want. Now, something to add some spice to the mix.
The press release cited several pieces of criticism made against the agency by Democrats, including Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), comparing ICE to slave patrols, Gov. Tim Walz (DFL-MN) calling ICE a “modern-day Gestapo,” and Jeffries himself saying people should be fighting Trump’s agenda “in the streets.” None of the examples included a call to violence. Jeffries was defiant at his press conference, accusing DHS of encouraging right-wing extremists to come after all the politicians on the list.
With a list that specific, yes, absolutely, giving everyone on the “other side” the ability to go after those politicians. Really? That’s from the Department of Homeland Security? It’s bad enough to have Trump debacles when he speaks in public. Putting out a hit list? You have got to be kidding me. Since the press release was public. Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries’s press conference was also public. It’s worth considering that this has likely spread around the world at this point. Mercy, our country and our rep is now broken. This tips it over the edge.
“Here’s what the Department of Homeland Security has done,” he said. “The Department of Homeland Security put out a hit list directed at Democratic members of Congress, Democratic governors, and Democratic officials. It’s a hit list saying to crazies all across the country, target these people. And so, no, we’re not going to be lectured by the Department of Homeland Security. Take your hit list down. That’s what they need to do.” “We are very clear attacks against anyone of any political persuasion for any reason, and certainly attacks against law enforcement, unacceptable, and attacks against immigrant communities [are] unacceptable,” he added.
Do we think this is going to happen? No. Do we think Minority Speaker Hakeem’s press conference will be spread around the country? Probably. Has our point been made clear? Yes. Will it be spread around the world? Yes, as was already guessed, and we can hope Hakeem’s is, too. We can hope his rebuttal will get noticed. Please, have something good get out. This bullsh!t from Trump and co. is tiring and continually embarrassing.
