Running closer and closer to the edge. It gets more and more obvious that he doesn’t have the skills for his job. Did we not scream about this? But he got it anyway, and continues to escalate his mistakes and poor performance. But you know, and I know, he won’t get fired. Soooo, the mess is going to get worse and worse. We do NOT need someone like this in his position. From CNN:

Christopher Rufo, an influential right-wing activist and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, a conservative think tank, posted on X Friday that it was “time for Republicans to assess whether Kash Patel is the right man to run the FBI.” “We would be wise to take a moment and ask whether Kash Patel has what it takes to get this done,” Rufo wrote. “I’ve been on the phone the last few days with many conservative leaders, all of whom wholeheartedly support the Trump Administration and none of whom are confident that the current structure of the FBI is up to this task.”

They’re just figuring this out? How much did it take to get to this point? He’s done so many things that have made the news, and not in a good way. Let’s mention the first one – he rarely went into the office. What the hell kind of attitude is that? How much does he NOT know? His background is in law and as a liaison. Okay, those are pretty good, but now the man loves to slack and be kept in the loop. That’s not a leader.

Patel’s rush to social media — followed by an embarrassing walk back — only added to the intense pressure already bearing down on him as the hours stretched on after the shooting and no suspect was identified. That pressure appeared to be on display a day later, when Patel lashed out at agents during an intense and expletive-ridden virtual video meeting Thursday afternoon with FBI teams across the country, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Well, that’s just unprofessional. You don’t do that sort of thing when you’re supposedly a leader. You have to keep your cool in public, no matter where that public is. I’ll also mention the firing of multiple agents at the FBI who had combined decades of experience in this.

There were firings of a lot of agents when Patel took over. This goes back to letting the experienced people handle things, but he was far too hasty. Don’t fire experienced people. He didn’t bother to look at the experience. He (possibly) just fired the ones who were making too much money. That’s slimming down your organization to your detriment. Too many missteps.

But criticism of the investigation’s handling went beyond Patel’s social media gaffe. Another misstep, according to people close to the investigation, was that the FBI held onto the rifle Robinson allegedly used until late Thursday. Later that [Thursday] night, the suspect would be brought into custody. Robinson was identified by his father in FBI photos and confessed to his father when confronted, officials said. The next morning, the news [of the subject’s capture] was announced first by Trump during an appearance on “Fox and Friends.”

This article will give you a lot more information on how the whole Kirk investigation went south so quickly. It’s worth the time to read it. Patel is looking worse and worse. But for what it’s worth, which isn’t much, he’s still the leader of the FBI. Trump will never fire him, just like he didn’t fire Bondi and Hegseth for their major mistakes. So much for the FBI, the DoJ, and the “War Department”. What a mess that hopefully will be fixed by our next president.

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help to ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thanks. Ursula

  1. Frankly the criticism of Patel in that linked piece was fairly muted. The most definite thing seems to be the bad effects of the FBI staff reduction.

    • I heard a report that indicated many of the FBI agents who would’ve been of the most assistance had been diverted to “help” ICE and its activities. And a number of the agents who’d been most involved in investigating domestic terrorism and domestic terrorists (since early reports suggested Kirk’s murder *might* have been connected with “terrorism”) had been purged by Patel in his efforts to please his master, Drumpf.

  2. Faith…originally meant trust. I have serious doubt in a cross eyed cult member, who profited from supporting the treason of Jan 6th, and, under oath, didn’t remember being on a right wing podcast EIGHT PHUCKING TIMES!!! Seriously freak, who the phuck do you think buys your lies and self serving bullshit outside the death cult you belong to??????
