I cannot believe my eyes. I was looking for a new topic and, as usual, stumbled across an article that makes me want to scream. I do not want to believe what is going to happen. I’ll tell you it’s ridiculous. I’ll tell you it’s not deserved. And now, I’ll show you. From CNN:
President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he will award former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor. The announcement comes after Giuliani, who is also Trump’s former personal attorney, was involved in a car accident in New Hampshire over the weekend. “As President of the United States of America, I am pleased to announce that Rudy Giuliani, the greatest Mayor in the history of New York City, and an equally great American Patriot, will receive THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM, our Country’s highest civilian honor. Details as to time and place to follow,” Trump posted on Truth Social Monday afternoon.
Guilani. He’s giving the Medal of Freedom to Giuliani. Why? He went straight downhill after doing so well on 9/11. First, he became Trump’s lawyer. Then he was involved with all the stop the steal crap. Then he gets a court case against him for defamation, and they win. And let us not forget the press conference at 4 Seasons Landscaping, next to a crematory and a porn ship, with his hair dye running down his face. It was wise that he faded from sight, especially after he was disbarred.
I don’t know or understand what happened to him. He used to be a pretty decent guy. And all you have to do is to look at him now, a relic of the past. If only he hadn’t done some of those things. If only. I’d like to know what happened, but I don’t think we ever will. He’s wrecked himself. He made so many bad choices and broke himself because of them. I don’t understand.
Giuliani, who was mayor of New York City during 9/11 and was often referred to as “America’s mayor” following the terror attacks, has faced a slew of legal and financial troubles since the 2020 election, where he played a key role in several of Trump’s efforts to try to overturn the results. He has continued to receive support from the president, who appointed Giuliani to an advisory council inside the Department of Homeland Security in June and put Giuliani’s son, Andrew, in charge of the White House Task Force for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Well, at least he has some help. But what the hell is our president thinking? He doesn’t deserve this medal, not anymore. If it had been after 9/11, I’d have been all for it. But now? Ugh. What is going on with Trump’s thinking? I know I went sideways and talked about Giuliani for a bit, but it’s back to Trump now. Most of the article was about Guiliani. I don’t think doing this will help Trump’s image in the slightest. I actually think it will hurt him. It’s interesting he’s said this after all the concern and conspiracy theories after he stayed well out of sight for a few days. So what’s the point? Trump being Trump, I guess.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. You saved me from having to say ‘alcoholism. It was alcoholism’. altho I want to also point out the person who commented that Guiliani was always corrupt, as he saved me from saying ‘he was always corrupt, just MAYBE, SLIGHTLY more surreptitious about it than Trump.’
Maybe Rudy can put it up for sale on Ebay to pay some of his legal bills.
Next recipient: Ghislaine Maxwell. Medal to be delivered to her at The Country Club where she currently resides at taxpayer’s expense.
If he doesn’t ruin it completely, Agent Orange makes it tawdry and worthless, just like a Nobel will be if he ever finds a way to extort one from the committee.
Susan, the Man Who Paints His Face Orange did more to destroy the value of this award during his first term when he named GOP Megadonor Miriam, and talk radio RWNJ Rush Limbaugh during his fist term than any other president before or since. Let’s file this article under “We aren’t surprised”.
