He thinks it shows how great and powerful he is, so he can send federal troops in wherever he wants to. He can take over any city he wants to. There are armed forces that will only listen to him – except that more and more of them are realizing that they can disobey orders. They swear an oath to the *Constitution* after all. But he thinks he is mighty and can do what he wants. From Raw Story:
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow warned Monday night that President Donald Trump’s insistence on using physical force to try to “cow and hurt people” is about to backfire spectacularly. Maddow began her show Monday night, pointing out that mass protests have erupted in Israel, with calls for a nationwide work stoppage. Trump, she said, has already had more than 5 million protesters in the United States. And more are coming, she warned.
Yes, indeed, more are coming. If you remember the sizes of the No Kings” protests, you know this. The protests aren’t stopping there. No, “we the people” are on a roll, and we don’t give up easily, or don’t give up at all. I don’t think “we the people” will give up until Trump is gone, and possibly not even then. Republicans have made a mess of our country.
“As Trump continues to arrogate all government power to himself, as his popularity drops further and further with the American people, as he increasingly uses physical force to try to cow and hurt people in this country — and the American public really don’t like that — the pace of protest against Trump appears to be picking up here again,” she said. Maddow pointed to a USA Today report finding anti-Trump protest numbers have hit an “all-time high.”
Gee, ya think? The situation in our country gets worse and worse because he feels that he is the only one who matters, and we are here to do his bidding. He doesn’t even try to hide the grifting. Yes, presidents are supposed to divest themselves of their holdings while they are leading the country. Trump isn’t even trying to be discreet anymore.
It’s all up in our faces. By this point, with the situation going downhill for everyone *but* him, we are getting restless. Even his most dedicated fans might be noticing that he gets richer while they get poorer. They just might be getting tired of buying all his expensive crap that isn’t worth a damn to us peons. And they might be getting tired of all the changes to the White House and all the damn ugly gold trim.
“Day after day after day after day, the president’s military takeover of D.C. has been met with direct action, in these really big protests like the one we saw on Saturday, also in smaller ones as well,” said Maddow. She added: “You know, I don’t know if it’s related or not, but I think Americans just really don’t like being threatened with their own military. And maybe that’s the reason why two of the other U.S. cities that had really big protests against Trump this weekend were two other U.S. cities where Trump has threatened that he’s going to send the troops next.”
*I* certainly don’t like being threatened with our own military. The *military* doesn’t like threatening civilians. Trump needs to be continually put on notice that “we the people” are tired of his crap, because we’ve noticed what he’s doing. Enough is enough.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, with the exception of one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. Well, there’s a very simple solution for that: Don’t obey illegal orders. It’s just too bad the ones at the top of the military hierarchy won’t tell Drumpf to eff off and the ones in the lower ranks haven’t shown much willingness to follow their supposed consciences and refuse to obey blatantly illegal orders (from an obviously insane “commander-in-chief”).
