Oh, my, someone was sloppy. They left quite a few documents behind on a hotel printer. That’s not just stupid, it’s possibly damaging, even though the meeting was long over. Tsk, people. Do you not know how to check and make sure you left nothing somewhere? From NPR:
Papers with U.S. State Department markings, found Friday morning in the business center of an Alaskan hotel, revealed previously undisclosed and potentially sensitive details about the Aug. 15 meetings between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir V. Putin in Anchorage. Eight pages, that appear to have been produced by U.S. staff and left behind accidentally, shared precise locations and meeting times of the summit and phone numbers of U.S. government employees.
OOOOOPS. Accidentally. How in the hell could you leave something like *that* behind? Of course, it could have been a lot worse. Someone could have found them *before* the summit meeting between Putin and Trump, and made good use of them. We’re lucky that they were found *after* it was said and done.
Eight pages, that appear to have been produced by U.S. staff and left behind accidentally, shared precise locations and meeting times of the summit and phone numbers of U.S. government employees. Jon Michaels, a professor of law at UCLA who lectures about national security, said that the documents found in the printer of the Alaskan hotel reveal a lapse in professional judgement in preparation for a high-stakes meeting.
Oh, yes. Lapse in *professional* judgement. Come on, people! A list of how the summit was supposed to proceed. The lunch menu was not that big of a deal. If someone was going to poison it, there’s no guarantee they would have gotten it to someone in the Russian group. And there would be a huge hoorah if something *had* happened with one of them. But the meetings and where they were at each time? Yowza.
“It strikes me as further evidence of the sloppiness and the incompetence of the administration,” said Michaels. “You just don’t leave things in printers. It’s that simple.” The printed papers are the latest example of a series of security breaches by officials of the Trump administration.
The. Latest. Example. There are more?! What is going on here? Sloppiness is not a good look for the administration. Sloppiness in security is *really* not a good look. We should keep track of everything that’s found out through these breaches. It could be interesting. And pictures of the documents can be found here via Imgur.
Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, with the exception of one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to keep going in our quest to tell the truth about Trump and see democracy survive. If you can help, please do. Thanks. Ursula

we WANT sloppy. Sloppy is good for us bad for them. The sloppier the better 👌
more please!
The minions had their own sets of this stuff so why the hell were they printing copies? And yes there was sensitive information since it included phone #s/contact information for govt. officials and or to rooms on the base itself! (with a phone number comes the possibility of a cyber attack) If I had to bet they (who knows how many asshats printed out stuff at an off base hotel?) were either trying to make a little coin selling some information to the inevitable cadre of Russian operatives (and those of other enemies in town to gather what intel they could) or maybe just to prove to some gal at the bar they were “important” – and maybe get a little some-some out on the road with wives/partners back thousands of miles away in DC.
Appalling either way.
Who needs paper copies when everyone has a smartphone with a screen that can display any document?
