This man is beyond disgusting. I didn’t think anyone still thought like this. He is a full-blown psychotic, deluded, excuse for a human being. He is GOP-affiliated and running for the position of governor of California. Let me show you more about this. From Alpine 6 Action News:
Kyle Langford, a Republican gubernatorial candidate in California, recently referred to Auschwitz as a “solution for homelessness,” triggering condemnation from across the globe and cementing his campaign’s strategy as a grotesque exercise in shock politics. Langford, who claims to be proud of his “German ancestry,” posed smiling outside Auschwitz’s gates in a photo captioned: “My 0% unemployment plan.” He followed up by thanking the Auschwitz Memorial Museum for the “shoutout,” saying his “German ancestors smile upon him.”
See what I mean? Howard Stern has nothing on this guy. It’s shock politics, alright. He might get some votes from the Proud Boys and other groups like that, but I think the rest of the people will look at him and be horrified. Kyle does not need to hold *any* public office with that attitude.
In response, the Auschwitz Memorial Museum called his statements a “profound moral failure,” adding: Auschwitz is not a prop. Kyle Langford, your post is an affront to the dignity of the victims and a disturbing display of insensitivity and disregard for horrifying human history.” Langford is not projected to advance past California’s top-two primary system—a system he referred to in a since-deleted post as “Jewish trickery”—but he has gained attention through a scorched-earth campaign built on racist, antisemitic, and authoritarian rhetoric.
Y’know, I hope people rise up and crush this man. The various splinter groups of racism and hatred, such as the Oath Keepers, were bad enough. This man is beyond that. Were his parents the same way? Because if he grew up with this attitude being hammered into his head, it’s one thing. But deciding he wanted to be like this? Oh hell no. No, no, no.
So let us be very clear: Alpine 6 Action News does not platform fascists. We do not present “both sides” of genocide. We do not “contextualize” calls for state-run murder factories. Kyle Langford is a fascist. Not a “provocateur,” not a “populist,” not a “fringe conservative.” He is a man running for office on a platform that includes the mass incarceration and murder of vulnerable people. His speech is not a policy disagreement. It is a threat. And like every fascist before him, he’s using democracy only long enough to dismantle it. Alpine 6 Action News will not be a stage for fascism.
‘Nuff said. I don’t intend to spend any more time on this, except replying to comments, if there are any. The man *is* a fascist. Trump has nothing on him. Sure, the immigration policy is ridiculous. But he’s not building gas chambers. Kyle would. It’s terrifying. I doubt we would be able to change his thinking, because it certainly seems that he enjoys the way he is. And *that* is alarming! When people questioned the authenticity of the post, he replied,

I suppose that this shitstain’s ploy worked, to his way of “thinking:” it got everyone’s attention, got his name out there, made people notice him. The old ‘No such thing as bad publicity’ philosophy. Thing is, he’s now got the attention of other shitstains (the Proud Boys you mentioned) but also folks who find him and his performance nauseating. Hopefully, that majority of decent people will bury whatever political career this asshole’s seeking.
Trump may not YET build extermination camps…but he IS building camps and detaining people without cause, and ignores the courts. Same way Hitler began. In fact, it took Hitler many more months before he started arresting his political opponents. Trump already has done that with democratic lawmakers.
