Yeah, a bunch of Little Leaguers are a dangerous threat to U.S. National Security. At least if they happen to be from Venezuela who’s team won the Latin America Championship. Hey, we all know Trumpty is in a bad mood these days, made worse by his problems being of his own making but taking it out on a bunch of Little Leaguers? (Pssst. Hey Donald, this won’t help your delusions of grandeur about a Nobel Peace Prize)
Well, Trumpty was in a dickish mood and lashed out. As noted in this short article from The Irish Star this administration is, or seems to be for now willing to exempt athletes coming here for an international sports competition:
Last month, President Donald Trump unveiled a travel ban to the U.S. on 12 other countries — with athletes slated to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup expected to be exempt from the restrictions.
Given Trumpty has already stolen one World Cup trophy (for the Club Championship) I’m sure he wants the big one for the professionals. So to keep from pissing FIFA off he’ll let all the players into the U.S. Little League? That’s small potatoes to Trump. Maybe he toyed with the idea of trying to play when he was six years old and realized he sucked. Or other kids made fun of him. In any case Williamsport, Pennsylvania (where the Little League World Series has been held since forever) isn’t someplace Trumpty would go unless it was for a rally. And the biggest and best venue would be that stadium. I doubt the trophy for the champion would interest him either. Too ‘rinky-dink’ for his tastes for one. And, as I said playing in Little League isn’t part of Trumpty’s background.
So, we have a President in a bad mood that wants to lash out. Punching down on a bunch of five foot tall Little Leaguers is exactly the kind of thing Trump would do. Worse, it’s the kind of thing he’d ENJOY doing! As a result a statement that reads all nice and doesn’t come close to describing the crushed feelings and dreams of those kids was issued by Little League International:
“The Cacique Mara Little League team from Venezuela was unfortunately unable to obtain the appropriate visas to travel to the Senior League Baseball World Series,” an official statement read.
The Cacique Mara team punched their ticket to the tournament after emerging victorious in the Latin American championship in Mexico. In their absence, Santa Maria de Aguayo — the runner-ups in the event — will take their place.
“While this is extremely disappointing, especially to these young athletes, the Little League International Tournament Committee has made the decision to advance the second place team, Santa Maria de Aguayo Little League (Victoria, Mexico), to participate in the Senior League Baseball World Series and ensure the Latin America Region is represented in the tournament and that the players, coaches, and families from Mexico are able to have a memorable World Series experience,” the statement continued.
The whole team had to travel to Bogata, Columbia a couple of weeks ago to obtain their Visas but thanks to Trumpy being such an asshole that’s as far as they got. It’s unfair as hell, but Trump gets his rocks off hurting people, even kids. These are boys which means Trumpty can’t even have sick ‘Ivanka when she was that age’ thoughts so he found another way to screw some kids.
That’s how I see it. I loved my time playing Little League baseball despite the efforts of a teammate to make the experience (hell, since we were classmates my entire life) miserable. No team from my town or even area has ever advanced to state championship level and had a shot at making it to Williamsport. I have enjoyed watching some coverage over the years. It’s pretty cool. However now Trump has injected himself and politics into it. Goddamn him.

Sorry situation, indeed. I have just researched Little League Baseball online. It is run by a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in South Williamsport, PA. Now I understand why the LL World Series takes place in Williamsport. If Trump is going to deny visas to participating team members based on their nationality, is there any reason Little League could not hold its World Series in a few other countries on some kind of rotating basis?
One problem is that it would cost the organization more money to host the tournament somewhere other than its hometown. And the TV market is probably more profitable than that in another country. And the times when the games would be broadcast.
And Trump could retaliate by having his Treasury Department examine the 501(c)(3) status of the organization.
Oh, well. Never mind.
