Trump Claims To Be Deporting ‘The Worst Violent Criminals.” He Just IMPORTED One, and Set Him Free!.

Let’s start with some basic facts. David Hanid Ortiz is a convicted triple-murderer with dual citizenship in the U.S. and Venezuela. He was serving a 30 year prison sentence there BUT is now walking free in the United States. Rumor is he’s in Texas but our govt. doesn’t seem to have bothered keeping track of him after he got off the plane that brought him here in the recent prisoner swap. WTF? I swear, most days it looks like Trumpty actively seeks out ways to create chaos and destruction and general outrage.

Trump keeps claiming only the worst of the worst criminals are being rounded up and deported. It seems like every day we see at least one example in the news of a tragic case of deporting someone who is NOT guilty of a crime, or perhaps committed a minor non-violent offense years or decades ago.  I’d also like to point out in the past, Trumpty has also claimed that he’d only have ‘the very best’ around him. Well, in his prisoner exchange with Venezuela one of the ten he got back was a man with dual U.S. Venezuelan citizenship. A convicted TRIPLE-MURDERER – and set him free.  Maybe the guy will wind up settling down near Mar a Lago?  Hell, even get a job in the Trump administration? Let’s face it – Trump’s definition of ‘the very best’ is different than everyone else’s!

This is disgusting and appalling on so many levels. Several major outlets have reported on this. I did a search to make sure the first story I saw (and read) wasn’t some sick and twisted thing from The Onion.  As a jarhead I was offended just from the headline that a fellow jarhead would commit the crimes noted. In the body of the story he was later identified as having served 19 years in the Army. Another outlet (Newsweek) also cited him as being a jarhead.

However, a detailed story by the New York Times says he was Army. AND dishonorably discharged.  The NYT states he served 19 years and received a Purple Heart from wounds in Iraq, but was forced out after pleading guilty to larceny and fraud according to Army court records. In other words Team Trump didn’t have to rely on other countries saying this guy was a criminal. OUR country has a record of him being one. FYI, a conviction by a Special or Criminal Court Martial carries the same weight as a civilian felony conviction under U.S. law.

So a cursory check from our people involved in the swap would have revealed not just that he was serving 30 years for a triple murder (Venezuela says they told our side this) but he was a convicted felon here in the U.S. And we all know Trumpty has been using far lesser crimes than larceny and fraud to shout “CRIMINAL! You’re Deported”, much less a triple murder conviction. In fact, this guy was offered to the Biden administration as part of some prisoner deal and Biden’s people passed. As they should have.  What the hell was Team Trump thinking with this guy?

So, just what did David Hanid Ortiz do to have been serving 30 years in prison? After getting his dishonorable discharge he wound up in Germany. In reading various articles on this I learned he established a relationship with a German Doctor. Things went bad between them as he became controlling and abusive.  Irina Trippel left him for a Peruvian lawyer (Victor Salas) and Ortiz engaged in some serious stalking.  Things escalated to the point Ortiz travelled to Madrid and committed his crimes. Apparently he was on an all too common “If I can’t have you then no one can” quests.

Ortiz botched his “mission” and though he murdered three people with his knife none were his actual targets – Salas and Trippel.  Now his victims are in fear for their lives and it’s easy to understand why:

Mr. Hanid Ortiz’s crimes took place in 2016 in Madrid, according to Venezuelan court documents, when he visited the office of a lawyer, Victor Salas, who he believed was having a relationship with his wife.

He killed two women there, as well as a man he mistook for Mr. Salas. He fled to Germany and then to Venezuela. Spain sought the extradition of Mr. Hanid Ortiz, but the Venezuelan Constitution does not allow the extradition of its citizens, and he was tried instead in Venezuela.

It’s clear Ortiz is no criminal mastermind, but just a violent, murderous thug. If he decides he’s going to kill someone simply being near them at the wrong time can get a person killed.  And now he’s out there somewhere in our country roaming free and Trump’s ICE goons don’t seem to have a clue as to where.  The NYT reports it’s unclear whether even if ICE rounds this guy up he can be tried here in the U.S. since he was convicted in Venezuela, or that he can be extradited to Spain if they make the request. That’s why the Biden administration told Venezuela the guy was their problem.

I’ve had the news on at times today and haven’t seen anything on TV about this. You’d think since Trumpty wants to talk about something other than Epstein at least one journalist would say ‘Mr. President, I have a non-Epstein question.’ Trump would JUMP (well, if his fat ass could jump without him falling on his face) and give time for all the cameras to focus on that journalist or Trump. And then the question: something along the lines of “You’ve said many times your priority for deportations were criminals, especially those who’ve committed violent crimes. Why, as part of the prisoner swap with Venezuela did you accept someone they convicted of THREE murders and serving a 30 year sentence as one of the ten our country got back?’

Hey, like I said Trumpty is desperate to talk about something other than Epstein. Why oh why aren’t journalists obliging him?  I think this would make for several days of news storied about Trumpty melting down, then trying to place blame on someone else.  Hell, if he were to think it through firing someone at State, the person who worked out the details of the swap would for two or three news cycles perhaps drown out Epstein. Of course journalists with guts (not enough but some would) could accurately point out Trumpty is trying to use this f**kup to distract from Epstein. Or a really brave one could repeat what I’m about to write – the Epstein story wasn’t going away and Team Trump included this guy on purpose!  So that IT would take over the news. Yes, Trump is that sick and twisted that he’d free a triple murderer and try to claim “oops” to get the focus back on immigration.

Well, we’ll see what happens next. I fervently hope this guy skips out to some other country. For damned sure it’s not safe for people anywhere he is.  If someone pisses him off we know how he reacts. I wonder, if he murders some American citizen here, will MTG go on another “Say her name!” campaign? Against Trumpty this time?
