The California Guard is speaking up. They are very unhappy about the farce of being deployed to Los Angeles for the “riots”. Then, adding the Marines, a group that has no experience with anything like a riot, also get sent in. This was not a worthwhile assignment for either of them. It was stupid and ridiculous.

The LA protests against ICE stayed well within the bounds of a protest. There were a few people getting excessive, but overall, it was peaceful. They knew exactly what tRump was trying to do by sending in the military. I think they made a concerted effort to stay peaceful and not have a need for either of the military groups. Agent Orange was trying to use this as an excuse to call martial law on our country. Well, he was disappointed. Too bad, so sad. Let’s see what some of the guards had to say. From Raw Story:

Troops in the California National Guard are speaking out to The New York Times about their loss of confidence in the mission President Donald Trump called them up for. “Six members of the Guard — including infantrymen, officers, and two officials in leadership roles — spoke of low morale and deep concern that the deployment may hurt recruitment for the state-based military force for years to come,” reported Shawn Hubler, shielding their identities to protect them against military rules prohibiting discussing active deployment. “All but one of the six expressed reservations about the deployment.”

As I was saying, right? This was a made-up potential disaster on the part of our president. He was trying to use them as a trigger, and it failed. The same is for the Marines. They were not needed. Governor Newsom tried to block the Guard. He succeeded with the first court, but it was disappointingly turned over on appeal and allowed to continue. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass made it very clear that LA was under control, but he still did it. Feh.

Many of the members “said they had raised objections themselves or knew someone who objected, either because they did not want to be involved in immigration crackdowns or felt the Trump administration had put them on the streets for what they described as a ‘fake mission,'” the report continued. “The moral injuries of this operation, I think, will be enduring. This is not what the military of our country was designed to do, at all,” one member of the Guard told The Times.

These people believed in the Guard. They believed in the military. They believed in what it represented. The representation was not for a bullsh!t assignment. The representation was not the assignment for what they had to do. There was no need for the military. It’s not a surprise to hear about their unhappiness.

A number of Latino soldiers were uncomfortable with what they were being asked to do, the report continued. “In one incident that several soldiers said occurred early in the deployment, 60 troops were awaiting transport to planned immigration raids in Ventura County when a Latino soldier approached officers in charge of the mission. He told them that he strongly objected, and he offered to be arrested rather than take part in the operation. Eventually, they said, he was reassigned to administrative tasks. Officials at the military’s Northern Command declined to comment about the incident.”

Gee, I wonder why? Could it be that they were unhappy about the assignment, too? Of course, no comment is safer. If so many of their people were unhappy, who else was and did they come forward? Or did they speak about it privately? Either way, we can tell that the Guard (I don’t know about the Marines) detested this assignment. It was such a waste of their time when, I’m sure, they had better things to do. El Presidente Imbécil tried to start something, and it failed. I’m glad it failed. What a waste. What a damn waste.
