The United States is the center of the soccer world for the next two years. This year, Americans enjoyed the world tournament for club teams from leagues all over the world. In the end, Chelsea (England, Premier League) won the title by defeating Paris Saint-Germain 3–0 in the final. Meanwhile, Fluminense (Brazil) won third place by defeating Real Madrid from the Spanish league. So you get the point. This is a big deal wherever soccer is a big deal, which is everywhere but here. The only bigger tournament is the FIFA World Cup, in which national teams play for the title. Next year, the U.S. will host the tournament along with Mexico and Canada while chasing perennial favorites like Argentina, Spain, Italy, and France. So to repeat, the final in the club cup was Sunday, and President Donald Trump attended, having boos ring down from the stadium.

Indeed, Trump even stuck around and had to have the players from Chelsea push him toward the back because he kept getting in the way of pictures. He was actually told to leave the stage, but wouldn’t do so, and the team had to forcefully come forward to push Trump toward the back. Indeed, Chelsea had to photoshop Trump out of the final picture.
The Chelsea soccer players hate Trump. You can see Cole Palmer ask his fellow players “what is he doing??” Absolutely hilarious. Nobody likes Trump!
So that happened.
But now we hear that Donald Trump kept the real trophy! Yes, apparently the most-prized trophy in club soccer is now in the Oval Office because… Well, because our leader is the most narcissistic person on Earth. From Rawstory:
“‘When are you going to pick up the trophy?’, and [FIFA President Gianni Infantino] said: ‘We’re never going to pick it up, you can have it forever in the Oval Office,’” Trump said, according to The Daily Beast.
“And they actually made a new one [for Chelsea], but right now [the original] is in the Oval,”
You just know it didn’t happen that way. You just know it. The President of FIFA may well have joked about it, but there is no fcking way that they offered the trophy to Trump. From that, the net went off on Trump with people feeling rightly infuriated and humiliated:

Again, this is utterly humiliating. How would you like to play for a solid year, qualify, kick ass during the entire tournament, and then dominate the final at 3-0, only to see the President there making it all about him, refusing to get out of the picture, and then keeping the original trophy for himself? Even if the FIFA President said take it – and that is Trump’s rendition of the story, I don’t believe it happened that way (Though it is not impossible), even IF there is no way a real man or woman keeps that trophy. Only a narcissist of breathtaking quality.
