This is just sad, on so many levels. The essence of democracy is that whatever our partisan views, when a human tragedy occurs, we come together as a people and grieve. But for the first time we have a *president* without humanity. Imagine if a Democratic president had not called in the aftermath of a shooting like we just went through in Minnesota. The country would be screaming with outrage. But Trump won’t call the Governor of Minnesota. Our *President* Will. Not. Call. From MSNBC:

In the wake of Saturday’s shootings in Minnesota, Gov. Tim Walz has heard from current American leaders (Vice President JD Vance), former American leaders (Joe Biden), and even a foreign leader (Ontario Premier Doug Ford).

The Democratic governor has not, however, heard from his own country’s incumbent president.

Shortly after the suspected gunman was apprehended, Donald Trump was asked whether he was prepared to reach out to Walz in the wake of the slayings. “Well, it’s a terrible thing,” the president told ABC News before quickly adding, “I think he’s a terrible governor. I think he’s a grossly incompetent person. But I may, I may call him, I may call other people, too.”

How about that shizzle? He’s a terrible governor, so it doesn’t matter that people were assassinated. It doesn’t matter. IT DOESN’T MATTER. Trump can’t be bothered to make a 30 second phone call. It doesn’t have to be longer than that, just a quickie. Well, okay, this is Trump we’re discussing. There isn’t much that’s quick about him (although Stormy Daniels might disagree with that statement).

Nevertheless, the point remains. This is so petty. Yes, I’m making a big deal out of it, but geez! Again, imagine if it had been the other way around, with a Republican getting killed and a Democratic president. The screaming would be heard around the world!

Evidently, the Republican has made up his mind. NBC News reported:

Days after a Minnesota state lawmaker was killed and another injured in a ‘politically motivated assassination,’ President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he would not call the state’s governor, eschewing a traditional presidential response to tragedies.

“Why would I call him? I could call and say, ‘Hi, how you doing?’ The guy doesn’t have a clue,” Trump said, referring to Walz. “He’s a mess. So I could be nice and call, but why waste time?” The Republican added, “I think the governor of Minnesota is so whacked out, I’m not calling him.”

Lawd almighty, could we have a more inept, stupid, nasty, irresponsible, revolting, sickening, repellent, hateful, vulgar, offensive, sleazy, sad excuse of a person who ought not be in the position he’s in? I’m disgusted.  Trump is cutting Tim down left and right. To close:

The New York Times’ David French noted earlier this year that Trump “is at his absolute worst in a crisis.” The columnist, whose observation was unrelated to deadly gun violence, added in reference to the president, “He is not a man who is ready to meet important and dangerous moments.”

The Republican keeps proving the point. When there was a deadly hurricane in North Carolina, he flunked a leadership test. When there was a deadly attack in New Orleans, he flunked again. When responding to deadly fires in California, he flunked again. In the wake of the Flight 5342 crash, he flunked again. And in the wake of Saturday’s killings in Minnesota, he’s flunked again.

Over the weekend, the Democratic governor called for “leading with grace and compassion and vision and compromise and decency.” That proved too difficult for Trump.

I’m so tired of this guy, and we are only about 5 months in. Trump does very well on the offensive (see: military deployment to LA) but he’s crap on everything else. He has no human decency. Hey MAGA, what do you think of *your* President now?

Thanks for sticking with me!

  1. What do MAGA think of their president? Are you kidding? They love the cruelty, the bullying, the vindictiveness. A more appropriate question is, why are the media barely covering his response? Oh right, that retribution thing.
BTW, that military deployment to LA didn’t go “very well.” Reportedly, the Secretary of Defense, aka Pete Kegsbreath, didn’t authorize pay and benefits for the National Guard troops that were deployed.

    • No, I’m not kidding. I’m writing what I see. The slavish devotion of MAGA is something we need to be reminded of.

The media is afraid of the idiot that is our President. He has more power there than we thought he had. Look at him getting the reporter fired for writing on social media, the truth. Look at how one news channel caved to his nonsense demands. And another may very well cave, as well. There was NO NEED to cave. There was NO NEED to fire a reporter. There is NO NEED for them to give control to tRump. But they took the safe way out.

Thank you for the information on the military deployment. I appreciate it. May I steal Pete Kegsbreath? What a *wonderful* description!

  2. Whatever Trump does or doesn’t do, it says more about him then about anything else, since he is not relating to the real world. He wouldn’t know reality if it bist him on the as, which it is doing every single day. But he still doesn’t know it. His defense mechanism, which developed into a habit under the leadership of Norman Vincent Peale when he (Trump)was still coming up into the stinkweed he is today and has long been, is to live in his own “reality”. Except that it’s not reality. We can all see that. It works to a point, but when we can all see it, it stops being effective.

He’s drunk with power, but a lot of that power he doesn’t even have. It’s important to realize that, We, the American people, have the power.

    • Indeed, we do. We have to remember No Kings. That *showed* we are (finally) aware of tRump and his lack of a mind, and have “had it” up to our ears and above. Enough is enough!!! And if we become complacent and lazy again, it’s time to pull back out those pictures and REMIND ourselves that we, the people, have the power.

  3. Agreed people have the power but they cannot practically exercise it for another 19 months at least, 43 months for certain. In the meantime, T’s Reality runs riot, media and others cave, bi$$ionaires reap and grifters grift from the people en masse. Unless, the rising tide of realisation, messing around with the Middle East and (and anti ICE NO KINGS demos) washes over GOP in office or aspiring to office causing them to realise they need a Hail Mary stand against the current (un)orthodoxy
