Just about any time I see or think about roses in any context a line from a popular song usually pops into my head: “I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden.” It goes on to say that along with sunshine there’s got to be some rain sometimes too. However rain leaves the ground a little soggy and for Trumpty that simple won’t do at what he considers HIS White House. So the iconic Rose Garden is getting paved over and the bulldozers are already at work.
It’s like Trump didn’t think Melania did a good enough job ruining that special place. Sure, she sterilized it from a vibrant garden into looking like some barely colorized painting from an artist known for “minimalist’ work. However Melania’s obsession with with becoming more admired/beloved than Jackie Kennedy seems to have been matched by a Donald obsession with being seen as more dashing and vibrant than Jackie’s husband JFK. The problem is that Trump got his dad to shell out bribes to keep him from military service. JFK convinced his dad to shell out money and cajole people to allow him to serve in WWII despite medical conditions that should have disqualified him as 4-F.
Trump probably liked “Melanie’s” notion during the first term of creating “Camelot II” although Trump would want to put his own brand on it. “MAGALOT” perhaps? That’s a whole new topic to consider. The point is that for all my life until Melania did her ‘makeover’ the iconic WH Rose Garden was associated with Jackie Kennedy. Jackie had more class and style in a single toenail clipping than Melania Trump has had her entire life. And even with his bad back and medical conditions JFK was more handsome and vigorous than Trump himself has ever been. Infuriatingly, like I said while you and I and most people think of the White House as something belonging to us all Trump has clearly decided it’s by grab HIS house and iconic reminders of past occupants have to be wiped out.
Hence his decision to pave over the lawn of the Rose Garden where so many have witnessed so much history being made. As the Daily Beast reports the ripping out of what little Melania left has begun and that’s not the only wiping of all things JFK/Jackie and Camelot have or are going down:
Bulldozers have begun ripping up the grass and digging the foundation for a new flagpole in the White House Rose Garden lawn, making good on President Donald Trump’s plan to install a Mar-a-Lago-style patio.
Employees with the National Park Service, which maintains the White House grounds, began work Monday on the project. They expect to finish sometime during the first half of August, the Associated Press reported.
Trump walked over to inspect the work and told reporters he was installing two “beautiful” flagpoles “paid for by Trump” because the grounds have “needed flagpoles for 200 years,” according to the AP. The White House already flies the American flag and the POW/MIA flag on the roof every day.
Trumpty took time from PAINTING HIS FACE ORANGE back in February to announce his bigly plans to ‘Mar-A-Lago-Ize’ this iconic portion of the WH grounds. I’ll be honest. I really hoped he wouldn’t get around to actually doing it. He’s had as you know his share of more pressing matters to deal with and since they’ve affected his image/brand and ultimately his approval ratings I thought this might get put off. Perhaps for good. This is something that will NOT poll well I’m sure.
Alas the Rose Garden, even with Melania doing her best to ruin it is still something people think about and when they do they remember it as Jackie had it looking, and subsequent First Ladies lovingly preserved. So Trump decided ‘Fine – I’ll just obliterate it entirely.’ Remember how I said that wasn’t the only JFK/Camelot reminder Trump hated? A lovely Magnolia tree JFK had planted that was easily viewed from the Oval Office because it had grown so large was ordered cut down by Trumpty! I fear we aren’t all that far from Trump issuing a proclamation that all other Presidents were “Losers” and therefore all references to them will be removed.
The Lincoln Bedroom will renamed. ‘The Russian Golden Shower Room’ perhaps? I’m sure some other awful name will be ordered for The Roosevelt Room’ and so on. The Hall of Portraits of past Presidents will of course see all those paintings removed. ONLY portraits of Trump, and some of them ‘heroic’, ‘buff’ Trump like on his ridiculous trading cards will be allowed the honor of hanging in that hall. My friends the time is a coming when Trumpty will demand the White House be rebranded at ‘The TRUMP House.’
In the meantime Trumpty is glorying in ripping out the last vestiges of a historic location and remaking it Mar A Lago style. He’s up to far worse at the moment but we still should make note of it because it’s another sign he’s planning to take over as Dicktator Dictator and making our WH ‘Mar A Lago North’ is just part of his plan.

I want to both cry and scream. This is disgusting. He’s “finishing” what Melania started. With any luck, our next DEMOCRATIC president will rip all *that* up and put a proper garden back in there. Maybe in Jackie’s honor?
JFK and Jackie had substance underneath the youth and style. The Trumps as well as the DeSantis’s will never have that, despite their efforts to imitate.
Pigs rooting around in the garden. Anyone who really knows pigs knows they leave devastation with a mixture of mud and shit. These phuckers are not only the pigs of a farm, but the pigs of Orwell’s Animal Farm, the lying greedy animals that took over. Oh, and rewrote history to suit themselves. The sooner these pissants head into eternity…the better for all of us, especially the children.
I have observed people who have suffered from dementia showing a tendency to rip up things like that — particularly things that other people cherish. It’s not proof of it, but it is consistent with it.
