Y’all. Oh my dear sweet lawd, what are they DOING? The majority essentially said, “Sure, you can send these people back”. They were on protected status for a reason, you jerks! And now you can bet they’re going to be deported since they won’t be protected, and who knows what will happen to them. Next, the Afghans – the people who HELPED THE US, and again, they are protected for a REASON. From CNN:

In a brief and unsigned order, a majority of the high court ruled that the administration could move forward with its plans to end a form of humanitarian relief known as Temporary Protected Status — a move that, immigration attorneys say, stands to make more people vulnerable to deportation.

The court’s decision was roundly criticized by advocates for immigrant rights.

But in a cryptic second paragraph in the order, the court noted it wasn’t weighing whether the administration could revoke work authorizations and other benefits of TPS that had already been issued after the Biden administration extended the status in January. It was not immediately clear how many people may have received those benefits or how the decision would apply to them.

Good grief. Make up your d*mn minds! Are they screwed, or aren’t they? I do NOT understand. It now seems that this is a very narrow decision by the court. Yes, Trumpolini can remove the TPR status. But no, he can’t necessarily send them back? Sure, I should have read the whole article before I started ranting. Even though I didn’t, I’m *still* upset by this. So, I’ll admit the ranting was a little much too early, but the facts remain the same. Again, from CNN:

Several attorneys involved with the case criticized the lack of clarity in the high court’s order, which they said will have the practical effect of letting the Trump administration take a first stab at defining how it will be implemented.

And don’t forget Ice Barbie’s games! Earlier this year, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem moved to end TPS status for Venezuelan migrants, with more than 300,000 Venezuelans in the US set to lose those protections in early April. Another 250,000 immigrants who arrived before 2023 are scheduled to lose their status in September. A federal district court in California temporarily blocked Noem’s order in late March.

US District Judge Edward Chen, nominated to the bench by former President Barack Obama, described Venezuela as “a country so rife with economic and political upheaval and danger that the State Department” has warned against travel there “‘due to the high risk of wrongful detentions, terrorism, kidnapping, the arbitrary enforcement of local laws, crime, civil unrest, poor health infrastructure.’”

Well, hello there! “Warned against travel there.” As I mentioned earlier, who knows what will happen to the Venezuelans once they’re put on planes and returned? Right? Down in the last paragraph, which I will also quote, the program was created by *Congress*. Shouldn’t they have a say in this? Of course, Agent Orange is stomping all over Congress and not paying attention to any laws about programs *Congress* created, so the point is probably moot. Last one, again from CNN:

Congress created the TPS program in 1990, allowing the federal government to provide temporary protection for migrants from countries enduring natural disasters, wars, and other conditions that would make it dangerous for people to return. At the end of the first Trump administration, officials described Venezuela as “the worst humanitarian crisis in the Western Hemisphere” and granted a different form of temporary relief to some of its migrants.

Yea. That. Just up there. I found out earlier that India has become a level 4 “do not go here” travel advisory. I think it’s past time the government looks at these places and really thinks about deporting people. Of course, we have to remember that El Presidente Imbécil has fewer brain cells than an orange cat. No wonder thinking, for him, is so hard to do. So here we go, TPS revocation part 1. At least it’s possible to appeal this. Maybe, just maybe, the next court will *really* look at this and can do something about this shizzle. It *is* shizzle. And the decision by the Supreme Court that no one said anything about, except Justice Ketani? Heh. No one had the courage? Oy. Thanks for sticking with me!

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula
