Gee, ya think? This is what happens when you boast about things, and we don’t see the results you say are coming. This is because you can’t keep your mouth shut, and you want us to think you’re the most amazing president EVER! (Except you aren’t, but you’ll never admit that.) Show us the deals, Trumpy! Put your deals where your mouth is!

Just a few weeks ago, President Donald Trump and White House aides were boasting that his tariffs would force a legion of foreign nations to rush into new trade deals — and that Trump’s prowess would yield more favorable terms for the U.S.

“I’m telling you, these countries are calling us up, kissing my a–,” Trump said last month before his reciprocal tariffs were due to go into effect. “They are dying to make a deal. ‘Please, please, sir, make a deal. I’ll do anything. I’ll do anything, sir!’”

“We’ve got 90 deals in 90 days possibly pending here,” Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro said on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” a few days later, after Trump paused some of his tariffs and declared a three-month negotiating window.

Yea, right. Suuuuuuure you do! Show us the deals! Wait. What? There aren’t any to show? But you promised! Oh, we misheard you? Ah, we see.

But seriously, all the boasting and all the promises that were made are showing us exactly nothing. Zip, nada, zilch. He’s flailing and failing. He doesn’t see that all or nearly all countries are making alternate supply lines. They’re working on opening free trade lines with each other. Sure, there are still going to be a few things unique to the US, but there’s an awful lot that isn’t.

These “trade wars” are going to hurt us a lot more than they’re going to hurt other countries. Russia doesn’t count. I don’t want to discuss Israel. I’ve embarrassed myself enough on that country. Trade wars really are going to hurt us. There are a few things that we don’t have that we need, and what in the hell do we do without them? For example, sure, a deal has been signed with Ukraine on their minerals, but that setup is going to take years before we start seeing anything from it. So what about the rare earths we get from China? Does he honestly think we’ll still get them with 145% tariffs? No. WHAM. Production stops on anything that needs those. How about everyone’s orders for the holidays? WHAM. Nope. Not coming.

He’s making our economy go to hell. And in the meantime, El Presidente Imbécil is trying to dodge reporters because all the deals he was boasting about aren’t coming yet. Apparently, there was one showing up later today, which I haven’t seen yet due to life things. I was more involved with happiness for our new *American* pope! He was one of the top 2 I was hoping for, so bonus! That cheered me up after the Gaza genocide news. There’s still some good in the world. Too bad it isn’t much in our country. PolitiZoom writers and you, the reader, are something good, too. I’m glad you’re here! Thanks for sticking with me!

*****And now, please be so kind as to read a very special request from our awesome boss******

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

  1. Tariffs are his best grift yet. The US-UK “ deal” is nothing more than a 10% tax/VAT/GST on ordinary Americans. No one in the UK will pay a cent in these tariffs. Wake up America! You’re being screwed by this felon!

    • From what I’ve read, the “deal” with Britain is not yet been put to paper. Apparently it’s still in the verbal stages. So really, until it’s printed and signed, he’s got nothing.

      • Bingo! The UK doesn’t matter that much. It’s other countries we need to work with. Where’s my coffee? I don’t think we can grow that here. So much for American manufacturing…I need to do another like this about how trying to generate manufacturing here is nigh impossible. The shortages are already hitting. The ports on the west coast could lose jobs because of how little is coming in. That’s not making us “rich”.

  2. The USA isn’t getting rare earths from China not because of tariffs, but because China won’t sell to The USA. Exports of rare earths, essential to a high tech economy, have been embargoed by China. You can’t buy what someone won’t sell to you.

So, Dimwit Donny, who holds the power in the relationship?

    • Okay, my bad, I thought I had put that in the piece. It was supposed to go along with the minerals in Ukraine “section”. Great question – you made me giggle! Yea, we’re screwed and I’ll bet Xi is highly amused!
