Well, Petey “He Man” Hegseth has found yet another example of ‘WOKE” to attack. This time he’s chosen to kill the DOD’s Women, Peace and Security Program. Ole Pete tells us it’s just a bunch of “WOKE” hooey, that ‘the troops HATE it’ (he says after all it’s a BIDEN program) so it’s gotta go!

That’s the gist of a short article I saw from 2paragraphs earlier today.  Hegseth went on Xitter to “proudly” announce he was ending the WPS.  Given all that’s going on this probably won’t become a huge news item but it’s noteworthy.  It was after all ushered through Congress by none other than then Senator Marco Rubio who’s now Hegseth’s counterpart over at the State Dept. Oh, and not for nothing but current National Security Advisor Mike Waltz was a founding member of the WPS Congressional Caucus. Alas, a program like the WPS is at odds with Petey’s “Warrior Culture” and he’s made it clear he knows WE know “them wimmen can’t be warriors.” So Hegseth has decided to kill the program with talk of it being some wussy Biden thing:

WPS is yet another woke divisive/social justice/Biden initiative that overburdens our commanders and troops — distracting from our core task: WAR-FIGHTING.

WPS is a UNITED NATIONS program pushed by feminists and left-wing activists. Politicians fawn over it; troops HATE it.

DoD will hereby execute the minimum of WPS required by statute, and fight to end the program for our next budget.

There are shall we say “issues” (as in the bullshit lies) to unpack there but let’s start with some actual sort of good news.  At least he realizes by law he can’t just entirely eliminate the program. I’m guessing that when he talks about doing the minimum having someone staff an office with a single desk, computer and phone.

But let’s take a closer look at what Hegseth has done and the attitude he’s expressing about it. As I mentioned this program was strongly supported by Marco Rubio when it became law and with wide bi-partisan support. Better yet, it was TRUMP (who took time off from PAINTING HIS FACE ORANGE) who signed it into law.  Biden had nothing to do with it except leaving it alone while he was President.  Of course even if a reporter had the guts to confront him live and on camera Pete would just stomp away and order said reporter’s credentials revoked.

It gets better. Back on April 1 (as in THIS year’s April 1) Rubio again touted a program he’s proudly associated himself with, and better still gave major props to Trump for signing it into law:

Rubio said at the 19th Annual International Women of Courage (IWOC) Awards Ceremony on April 1: “President Trump also signed the Women, Peace, and Security Act, a bill that I was very proud to have been a co-sponsor of when I was in the Senate, and it was the first comprehensive law passed in any country in the world – the first law passed by any country anywhere in the world – focused on protecting women and promoting their participation in society.”

Well, that was then. What a difference less than a month makes.  I’m starting to wonder if Hegseth feels so embattled (part of him knows Trump can pull the plug whenever he wants and will eventually do so) he’s reverting to childhood. Not that he seems to have gotten past adolescence but you know what I mean. I swear he’s trying to make the Pentagon into The Little Rascals. Complete with that clubhouse (or now the Pentagon) having that ‘No gurlz allowed” sign.  I’m not sure Hegseth even wants women in the DOD who are ‘secretaries’ – men can after all type.

I suppose he’d might allow women as low ranking enlisted troops assuming they are 1) “hot” and, 2) willing to partake in “dick”tation.  Or make like Japan in WWII and provide “comfort women” (Japan mostly forced Korean women into sexual servitude) in military brothels. I really wonder about this guy. He was a drunk and a womanizer BEFORE he got the kind of power he now has. Now he gets to be “worst, crudest and most predatory frat-boy” ever.

It will be interesting to see if Rubio and Waltz push Hegseth to take things slow in whittling down the WPS. They put a lot into making it work and it DID do good. Maybe they’ve got their fingers crossed that Trump will cut his (PR) losses with Hegseth and a new SecDef can rebuild things relatively quickly. Trump sure as hell needs some good PR.  Even if to him it’s nothing more than some token PR “See? I support women!” bullshit from him he DID after all sign the whole thing into law in the first place.  Well, we’ll have to just wait and see.

***Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula***

  1. The more news I read about this man, the more I want to smack the s*** out of him. Talk about your stereotypical male chauvinist pig! He’d do well in the “All In The Family” show. He reminds me of something squishy you’d step into in the middle of the night. ICK!

  2. 🤨🤬 Well, Denis, I saw this coming toward women earlier this month when Kegsbreath rescinded any rules about treating any humans as humans if they are in the way of lethality. He rescinded the rules on civilian casualties during war. He supports troops who torture and kill non-combatants…LETHALITY TOWARD ALL!! And the reason Trump got a hard-on for Kegsbreath in the first place is because of Pete’s public disagreement for courts martial of soldiers who murdered civilians.

Pete Hegseth Is Gutting Pentagon Programs That Reduce Civilian Casualties

The other action Kegsbreath has planned for awhile and looks like it’s here is to give female soldiers NO protection from sexual assault and to take away the system for reporting and legal process if they have been assaulted. I’m sure he is trying to get women to “self-deport” out of his LETHAL MALE ARMY! If he does that, he will lose a sh*t ton of skills that not all “lethal men” possess. He also seems to believe that “lethal” men never get sexually assaulted by other “lethals” and certainly would never need to report such a thing!! 🤬🤬

Pentagon Considers Cutting Its Sexual Assault Rules

  3. This satirical piece cleverly uses The Little Rascals nostalgia to critique Pete Hegseth’s controversial Pentagon remarks. While the “No Gurlz Allowed” metaphor is humorous, it underscores a serious issue: gender equality in leadership roles shouldn’t be up for debate in 2024. The article’s sharp wit highlights how outdated such exclusionary attitudes are, especially in institutions meant to represent all Americans. That said, a deeper dive into policy impacts (rather than just cultural jabs) could’ve added weight. Still, an entertaining yet thought-provoking read!

    • You make a good point about the seriousness of what’s going on. There IS plenty of appalling stuff that’s happened or “KegsBreath” is furiously at work trying to make happen. Reading Cleora Borlealis’ post I was reminded of his already cutting efforts to address sexual assault, and thought back to GOP Senator Joni Earnst of Iowa, herself a Veteran and victim of sexual assault. Initially she was a No vote on Hegseth (who less we forget had to have Vance show up to break a 50-50 tie on his final confirmation vote) but changed her mind. There was a bit of a fuss at the time but she more or less got a pass for her capitulation. After all, she IS a survivor and attacking her for caving on this is fraught with the potential to backfire. However it’s a stark lesson in how afraid Republicans became (and most still are) of openly challenging Trump.

To be honest I was torn about writing a longer and more substantive piece. Starting years ago back on DK I earned (deservedly I must admit) a reputation for long, winding “diaries” that delved too deeply into the weeds and/or tried to cover too much ground. This time I chose to try to keep it simple, using what I hoped would be a bit of biting satire. Given how few people seem to have read the article perhaps I should have adopted a different approach. But the fact remains this asshat is trying to purge the DOD of women. Except as I said for “secretaries” he thinks are good looking for when he’s in the mood to trying and grab a quickie. Or his “fellow warrior” “real men” can do so.
