Facing a sea of her pissed off constituents in Westfield, Indiana, U.S. Rep. Victoria Spartze’s Town Hall descended into a 2 hour shouting match just minutes after it began. I’m wondering if she didn’t expect that. But Republicans are getting it up, down, and sideways, all over the country. Her people were extremely unhappy about the same things that you and I are – tariffs, grocery prices, inflation, Elon Musk, and so on.
“Screams from the crowd were nearly constant, often drowning out the Republican representative as she took questions on a range of issues. Constituents’ fury was wide-ranging: from outrage over inflation, tariffs and the national deficit; to concerns over health care and decreased government services; heated opposition to federal deportation efforts and spending cuts directed by Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE); and frustration over President Donald Trump’s response to the Signal scandal at the U.S. Department of Defense.”

“You’re a f****** liar!”
“You’re not listening to us!”
She threatened at several points during the town halls to stop hosting such events, but repeatedly asserted her desire “to hear all sides” from “everyone in my district.” “You don’t have to scream,” Spartz told Friday’s crowd in Westfield. “I’m glad that we have people who came here, and I understand your frustration. … That’s why I have these town halls. We want to have these conversations. But if people just come here because they want to scream, it’s not productive.”
She struggled every minute for 2 hours, of trying to answer questions over the yells and boos. I’m impressed she stayed the whole time. She’s pretty brave, considering how many Republicans don’t come out at all. The Republican party leaders advised against doing live town halls. This is not a surprise. Wimps. So, you really do have to give her a *little* credit, both for coming out and for staying the whole time.
I think our Democrats will come out. They know their people are unhappy, but they *want* to see them, not dodge them. That’s pretty brave, too, actually. The town halls that have made the news for Democrat town halls have also had angry people come out. I’m unhappy about their lack of stamina and what the hell do they think they are doing in Congress when our voices need to be heard? I’ve gotten myself in gear to call, email, and write Georgia reps. Now the Democrats need to quit whining and get in gear. They need to start *thinking* again, and not just react. C’mon, folks. Your constituents need you.

That needs to be followed by EDUCATING yourself to the truth, and VOTING to get these rich liars out of power, if we get to vote again. Otherwise…STFU!
