Does anybody know where Susie Wiles is? Popping a Valium? Taking a page from Pete Hegseth’s book and heading for the liquor cabinet? Because clearly either she’s not doing her job or Donald is just too far gone for anything to sink in. Frankly, I suspect the latter. Wiles is one of the few competent people in Trump’s inner orbit, so I’m sure she’s tried. But bear in mind what a complete annoyance this is to Donald, people talking all this techno babble about *apps* and *signals* and whosie whatsie. Gee, can’t a guy just do a photo op and play golf? Sheesh, what’s wrong with you people, you expect the titular *president* to have answers about a security breach of unprecedented proportions? Go bug somebody else.

“Bad signal?” Or is Trump confusing the Bat Signal? He’s just blithering and rambling. The man has no clue. Meanwhile, back at the White House Baghdad Bobbie Karoline Leavitt is characterizing this breach of security as a “disinformation campaign” helmed by not only Democrats but Hillary Clinton. OMFG. They’re going there.

"This verbatim transcript of a conversation between administration officials is misinformation."

Now this is a stupid tack to take, but it is the tack that they are taking. The problem here is that all the facts are on Goldberg’s side plus the National Security Commission’s spokeman confirmed that the thread was authentic. Plus, the bombing happened at precisely the time stated in the chat, so Leavitt can say that this is all made up until she turns blue and keels over, it’s real. But we are at a place in this country where the biggest promulagator of lies and deception is the so-called People’s House, the White House. Tragic but true. And then it got almost comical because counter-programming from the White House caused markets to drop. If it’s not one thing it’s another, as Roseanne Rosannadanna used to say.

Great, let’s focus on tariffs and get a market crash going because that assuredly will get some of the focus off of national security. The Trump 2.0 administration has been compared to a circus, I’m wondering if a zoo wouldn’t be more appropriate. One where monkeys fling feces a lot. That’s the takeaway image that historians will use in the future, I have no doubt. Think of Trump as an orange orangutan throwing feces and that’s as good an encapsulation of his *leadership* in 2025 as you’re going to find.

Zoomers, if you can afford a small donation or a subscription, it would help keep us in business. You can see why a lot of people are fed up with politics but they will return. It’s just a question of time before people get over shock and dismay and decide to get back in the fight. Meanwhile, if you can help us keeping trekking through cyberspace, we would appreciate it. Thank you. Ursula

  1. In a zoo, the animals are inside the cages, as it has been said. Of course this comparison to the trump cabinet highly insults the animals.
