This is just beyond stupid. The Mango Mandarin puts tariffs in place, then backpedals on them nearly as fast as he puts them in place. This does NOT look good for us for the rest of the world. And they are getting major pushback from those who have them slapped on. Nations have decided they are not going to take this lying down, or even just take this. We don’t need a tariff/trade war and that’s what we are getting.
For example, he decided to increase the tariff on steel and aluminum. Well, he didn’t think that one through, if he thought about it at all. The auto industry screamed at him and he pulled it back for a month. But just a month. He’s trying to threaten through tariffs and it is not working.
How about this new tariff incoming on dairy and lumber from Canada? And a 250% increase on dairy, at that. It’s going to drive US businesses out of business in short order, because they won’t be able to afford the product anymore. How about the Wisconsin cheese industries? If they survive this it will be a bloody miracle. Then tRump thinks we can go to all domestic lumber. But he wants to cut down the forests that are protected. It takes many years for a new tree to grow to replace one that is cut. YEARS. I’m fairly sure that will decimate the available lumber, and then we will have to go to getting it from Canada again. That’s going to take, as I said, YEARS to replenish. But he’ll whip out an EO and *poof*, gone. Are there enough people left to dare to pressure him against that?
Here’s something that puzzles me. He talks to the president of Mexico on the phone and agrees to pull back on their general tariffs, that being anything under the new agreement that was signed during his first term. But he doesn’t do the same to Canada, at least not at first. That’s odd. This could be part of his ridiculous desire to make Canada the 51st state, which you and I know ain’t gonna happen. They still have US tariffs in place, albeit only the ones that are not under the USMCA. Well, Canada is keeping theirs in place until *all* of Agent Orange’s are removed. They are playing hardball with the US.
Here’s an interesting little side note. Both the US and Canada are in NATO, the US’s membership subject to change (of course). If the Orangutan starts up something with Canada to try to annex property, we’d essentially be fighting against ourselves. Personally, I would go fight for Canada, not the US. But I’m too old for that.
So back to tariffs. I haven’t mentioned China yet. They have also pushed back with reciprocal tariffs. And we get a lot of product from them, like computer chips and such. So, watch computers skyrocket in price, again hurting US business. That’s one easy product to think about. I’m sure there are more, a *lot* more. How about cars? Appliances? China would have a lot better chances of surviving the Confused Carrot’s tariffs. They could likely make it up in other areas. They’re not exactly small. Those are the 3 main recipients.
So here we have Traitor Tot’s ongoing tariff/trade war. I’m getting whiplash. I don’t think it will ever stop while the Orange Baby Balloon is still in office. tRump thinks America is big and powerful. It’s not anymore. The world continues to watch this insanity and they are snickering up their sleeves, all because the Orange Sphincter got re-elected. This is hurting us. Our allies are pulling back because Traitor Tot is erratic and undependable. Our businesses are being hurt. We are not going to survive this well. All his bullsht is beyond brainless. And it’s still in the first 100 days. What happens next?
*****And now, please read a very special request from our awesome boss******
If you’ve already donated to PolitiZoom, we are grateful for your contribution. If you’re able to spare a donation, it will help us keep going during this time of low traffic industry-wide. And I’m sure I don’t have to explain to anybody why people are staying away from this kind of demoralizing material. But we have to keep on fighting. Thank you. Ursula

I make fun of MAGA “philosophy” all the time! Daddy’s back and he’s getting out his belt!! Daddy’s doin’ tariffs…yeehaw! 🤠Daddy’s threatening Zelenskyy…yeehaw! 🤠Daddy’s taking “one way or another” Canada and Panama and Greenland…yeehaw! 🤠Daddy’s standing up to NATO and China and Europe and Iran…yeehaw! ðŸ¤
I don’t make fun of MAGA anymore. The Daddy issues are too serious and these Daddy-dependent people are unable to see that Daddy talks tough, but pulls his punches almost every time. Like you say, Susan, for sane people this is whiplash-inducing and unacceptable. It should be that way with Sphincter Face’s supporters. They can’t stand that indecisive wishy-washy behavior in a spouse or a friend or their damned boss who never makes up their mind! So, why do they accept it from a man that they lifted up as both Daddy and Father President?!
Well, that is part of the answer, isn’t it? Not for every MAGA family, I hope, but many had overbearing, bigger-than-life, demanding of control Daddy figures. And I know those Daddies were not good planners who always kept their word, but by Heaven everybody in the household better follow the rules even if you couldn’t possibly know what rule Daddy was gonna invoke each day…the “rules” were based on Daddy’s random thoughts and feelings and you didn’t have a path to follow but Daddy was gonna abuse everybody in the house anyway!! It is really hard to break the cycle of abuse and people seek out what is familiar.
Sphincter is the dysfunctional Daddy they could never please in youth, but they believe their vote pleases him now!! Sphincter Daddy came from a dysfunctional family and so did his supporters. They are merely seeking each other for familiarity rather than getting therapy and the rest of us are being driven insane by Daddy issues that are not our own!!
Maybe it’s time to consider that tanking the economy is the plan? Sounds ridiculous yet, if it happens, we get crushed and the oligarchs buy up at firesale prices.
