One prediction about Tuesday’s State Of The Union address I feel 100% confident making: It will be like no other in American history. I would be willing to get a bookie to lay odds on that. And there are political bookies in this day and age, make no mistake. Supply and demand rules the marketplace. Also for the first time in American history, the political situation is such a volatile melodrama and unpredictable tragicomedy that people are laying odds on what the next whacko plot development will be. Politics has become, if not the greatest show on earth, certainly the strangest.
Tomorrow on the bill of fare, we will see Congresswoman April McClain Delaney (D-MD-06) bring a guest with her to the SOTU. That guest is one of the people who was put on the unemployment line through no fault of his own. In fact, the incredible irony here is that his job description says that he was employed to fight waste, fraud and abuse at Medicare/Medicaid — meaning that DOGE fired a man whose only purpose working for the government is to do the very thing that Musk is there to do. But Musk fired him? Is this nuts enough for you? This is the press release from the Congresswoman’s office a few hours ago.
Hi All,
Tomorrow, Congresswoman April McClain Delaney plans to bring Matthew Fessler, a constituent from Walkersville who is also a recently laid off federal employee, to the State of the Union. Matt was employed as a Health Insurance Specialist at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and focused on measuring improper payments within the Medicare Part D Program. In short, his chief job was finding waste, fraud, and abuse within a federal agency—but was fired by DOGE in its purported pursuit of cutting waste, fraud, and abuse.
Matthew took a pay cut to take this job because he was eager to serve his country and protect taxpayer dollars and the Medicare program. Despite receiving an “Achieves Outstanding Results” rating on a January 6, 2025, performance review, he was unexpectedly terminated on February 15 due to alleged “inadequate performance.”
We still have a few time slots if you’re interested in speaking with the Congresswoman and her guest. Otherwise, can provide a quote from her.
Best,
Sasha Galbreath

Now I applaud this Congresswoman. She is fighting fire with fire. She is confronting Trump with his own stupidity and I predict that this will make some amazing headlines — unless Trumpty and Musk get wind of it first and try to head it off at the pass somehow.
Some Democrats are choosing to boycott Trump’s SOTU and that’s fine. Everybody must follow their conscience. But I like what this gal is doing. This is bull by the horns time. This is suiting up and showing up with guns a blazin.’ This is the way to do it, not staying home.
The press release goes to all media outlets, I presume, large and small. I want to see what CNN and some of the big boys do with this. I want to see the publicity around this, because this is the best example I’ve seen so far of how utterly and abysmally incompetent DOGE is. How does an employee get an outstanding rating on January 6 and by February 15 Elon Musk has decided he needs to be canned for “inadequate performance?” Most of the people reading this paragraph have worked in corporate America at some point. Have you ever seen such a thing?
This is sheer five-star, vintage, unmitigated bullshit. And you may rest assured that this is not an isolated incident. Multiply this gentleman and his experience by thousands, maybe tens of thousands of people at this point. And it’s only the first week of March.
Let’s see what Trumpty has to say to this. Let the games begin.

Friends, thank you if you have donated. If you are able, we are using donations to pay the overhead and the writers get paid from whatever traffic we are able to generate. Times have been lean and paychecks small the past four months. But we intend to survive through this and keep going, no matter what. We can use your help until people become fully engaged in politics again. Thank you. Ursula
