I think we are all stunned about how this person managed to get into this position.
Yup, Tulsi Gabbard is now head of our spy agencies. The woman is a known Russian sympathizer. The woman who was described as “Assad’s mouthpiece’ by the RNC. The woman who defended Bashar al-Assad’s Syrian regime, that has thankfully come to an end. The woman who had warnings about her from former national security officials. The woman who did not do well in her meetings and confirmation hearings. But they still chose her.
There is so much wrong with this picture I don’t think any of us really knows where to start. How can she be Director of National Intelligence with all that? What is she going to give up first – information to Moscow, especially in light of getting Russia and Ukraine to the peace talks? I’m sure there’s something that will be valuable to them, perhaps even intel on Ukraine and its weapons and drones and defense. How in the hell do we know she will keep that information where it belongs, in the US? That’s definitely not something that needs to be passed along!
What other pieces of information could she give up? Intelligence on other countries to go against their foes? Whatever she thinks needs to be given to someone who is not a member of the US? There’s talk, unconfirmed, that other intelligence agencies are going to be limiting their information to us because she is such a wild card and they don’t know where it will go. Why should other countries be concerned about us when they weren’t before? That’s definitely one of the kickers.
She also has a lack of knowledge about what they do and how things work, even in general. So I guess that means she learns as she goes. That’s dangerous in and of itself. I can’t imagine starting the day in an organization as big and as critical as that one and not have any idea what to do. I’m hoping someone will guide her along, much as it might annoy them. We don’t need a mess that big to try and clean up, if it could be cleaned up at all. There are things that the public ought not to know. I hope we never do.
