Hide. Backwards in time. Fear. Hide. No Pride. No support. Fear. Possible Attack. Targets. Bathroom stupidity. Executive orders. Erasure. Forced changes. Non-people. Gender dysphoria. Can’t help. Can’t do. Regulations. Negative. They’re people too. But no.
What the holy hell. They’re taking away the rights all of us have fought so hard to get for these people. Trans people are people, not garbage. And they’re being attacked left and right for stupid sh*t. This whole thing that started with Nancy Mace and Ladies’ bathrooms has exploded into a country-wide persecutions. Last I knew trans females or trans males were just that – female or male. What do they think is going to happen? So now, this whole thing is getting worse and worse and doesn’t seem to be stopping. It’s expanding and our trans friends will have to go underground and hide. They’ll be persecuted by the “right” because they are thought of as less than human.
From Erin in the morning: On Tuesday, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Acting Chair Andrea Lucas announced a set of policy changes inspired by President Donald Trump’s recent anti-trans executive orders, including the derecognition of nonbinary people, the removal of pronoun options from digital workplace tools, and the elimination of materials promoting what she called “gender ideology.” Most alarming, however, was Lucas’ stated top priority: “defend the biological and binary reality of sex and related rights, including women’s rights to single-sex spaces at work,” a signal that she intends to push for a federally backed bathroom ban in private workplaces.
These rollbacks on transgender rights mark only the beginning of the Trump administration’s broader assault on transgender individuals. Less than two weeks into his second term, Trump issued an executive order targeting gender-affirming care for minors, attempting to strip transgender youth of access to life-saving medical treatment. He also reinstated a ban on transgender service members, branding their “lifestyle” as incompatible with military service and claiming they lack “honor, truthfulness, and discipline.”
These orders will face legal battles, and everyone is settling in for a long and protracted fight. But if one suit is won, then others can be won too. I didn’t know about trans people for a very long time. Now there is someone in my family who has a trans fiancée. She’s one of the nicest people I have ever met. And I found out awhile back that they ARE people too, duh me. So trans means going along with your gender identity, and so what if they have to use the bathroom. They’ll be in a stall so what is there to worry about? This is excessive and wrong, to persecute these people for being what they are. I don’t pretend to understand it. But one thing – no EO can erase the transgender community. So there’s a fight ahead, many fights, but they will come out of this stronger. They are indestructible. And they will come back from this nonsense!!!
