Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford is “ripping up” Ontario’s nearly 100 million dollar contract with Starlink (hi Elon) in the wake of tariffs on nearly all Canadian goods. It seems that Canada knows how to hit things and make them hurt. It’s not going to be easy for either country but the Mango Mandarin isn’t going to have his things his way. All bluff all the time, DonOld. What IS it with tRump thinking he can throw his weight around with other COUNTRIES and not expect to get slapped in return?
I don’t get all of his yap, yap, yapping about tariffs and taking countries by force (hello Panama) and “the EU is very bad”, or “people are very corrupt”, when he should go look in a mirror because he has all of his crap right there. Canada (Ontario at least) is not going to take this lying down. They’re already cancelling contracts and this will hurt here in the US because one of those being cancelled is for steel. Heh all Elon said about cancelling Starlink was “oh well”. I guess he has enough money to make up for it, especially with all the hostile takeovers he did over the weekend, and, I would suspect, illegally. Ontario is cancelling all of its US contracts until the tariffs are removed. There are already people asking for government help because their jobs are in danger, and they deserve it, because it’s not their fault the US via Donald Trump is being stupid.
It’s interesting when you start looking at the ripple effects of all these changes. I believe that the Confused Carrot just didn’t think things through. On the other hand, he doesn’t give a damn about the people in the US. “Prices are going to come down! Gas is going to come down!” Bullsh*t. He’s trying to shovel that sh*t around with a backhoe and it’s just not going to do him any good. It’s going to hurt all of us, MAGA or not. There are those of us who knew this about him and voted for the correct person. It doesn’t make a difference now, though, or so it seems. Yea, it’s going to hurt.
This leads onto why is he putting tariffs on our neighbors, with whom we’ve had very good relationships, for eons? Seems to me it’s more rattling the sabers and throwing his weight (of which there is a lot) around. Fentanyl and illegal immigrants do not need this sort of over-the-top stupidity. Stop guns going into Mexico – their country expects something in return. And add in China for 10% which, again, is just going to make prices rise and the US population gets to pay the difference, to be “tough”. This whole thing is irritating the hell out of me. Our weak Democratic Party isn’t going to do a damn thing to get him under some sort of control. With the exception of Hakeem Jeffries, ONCE, the Democrats have been far too quiet for far too long. I’m reaching out to my reps any time I have a new idea. I reach out to them to ask what we can do. I reach out to them asking why they are so weak. Probably not a surprise I didn’t hear anything on that one. Canada is kicking ass and taking names. We’re still licking our wounds – but for how long? This is ridiculous. Give us something to do! Look forward, not back! EDIT: tRump backed down for 30 days so Ontario has backed down … for now. This piece is still applicable!!!!!!

Trump…think things through? Not a chance in hell. I’m still perplexed over your surprise. The man is incapable of thinking. Nothing he does is a surprise to me…no more than when the earth turns to face the sun…then away…then face it again…then away…and so on.
I’m slowly getting less surprised, especially when I go searching for more information. I strongly dislike being surprised. So, I’m learning. It may make my pieces boring, though 😉
Not much difference between Doug Ford and Trump. Both are hugely fat, not very smart, corrupt, obnoxious. Doug and his brothers were drug dealers at one point.
