Yea, FAFO is coming. Quit your job? Okay, seeya! Nope Nope Nope. Not gonna play those games. What were you THINKING? Oh right, back to all about the money, again. I guess you didn’t need all those people *cough*right*cough* but that was a f*cking RUDE way to tell them so. Losing everyone is going to come back and bite him in the butt. Stupid. Saving money is not going to help you when something goes wrong.
And speaking of wrong, not a good idea to piss off your air traffic controllers. They’re pretty important. I know *I* would not want to fly without those people. And that is a HARD, HIGH STRESS job. Knowing you have someone’s (well, a lot of someone’s) life in my hands would be unnerving. I would guess it gets easier as time goes by and you get more practice, but still, yikes.
One California airport has had all its air traffic controllers resign. It’s in a very busy air space. They don’t know if they’ll be able to replace them. From what I gather, they sold the contracts to a private firm that is paying *less* than the original, and bonus, the area has had the highest cost of living in the US for 6 straight years, which is yet another reason to leave. Then add in THE EMAIL, which was essentially resign or be fired (I don’t even know if they could get unemployment) and you have a bunch of unhappy people not just in air traffic controllers, but all through the federal government positions. And again, this “cost cutting” is going to bite them in the butt when they need something and the person(s) they need aren’t there to fulfill it.
It seems like certain people don’t think things through AT ALL. If you don’t follow something through to the end and see what the possibilities are, that’s pretty bad. You don’t know what talents you are losing and should be keeping. Some of the positions have nothing to do with politics, I believe, and I don’t understand why they are booting people that are buried in a building somewhere doing their thing and really do NOT need to replaced by loyalists. Leave them alone and put your loyalists in the top echelons where they’re visible. Stop harassing the lower-level employees. It’s just silly. Or stupid. Or both, to shove them out the door. About a gazillion people got THE EMAIL. And half that gazillion do not need to go. Saving money does not mean you need to bother with them. You have career job people in place that are loyal to the *job*and what it means and what it is, not to any specific administration.
And after what happened with this crash (I really admire them for keeping the controller’s name under wraps) if it was me, I could very well be heading out the door, too. I actually don’t know how long we can expect a controller to stay for how many years. The physical and emotional costs would be just too much to stay for 30 years or more. Oof. I’m glad I’m not one. Too much.

The saddest thing about all this is that Trumpy is gonna blame all this on women, blacks, trannies, whatever his dim brain dreams up. And we already know that half the country is gonna believe him, or more accurately, just doesn’t care.
🤬 Let’s remember, Sphincter Face has never run a large organization. TrumpOrg is small and scary and people did what he said. He runs the Presidency the same way…small group of inside sycophants who do what he says. The Big Sphincter is thoroughly incapable of understanding the big picture, the scale, of his government on a management and org. chart and human resources basis.When he screams about FAA commitments to hire people with disabilities, he envisions a control tower full of blind, one-armed “dwarfs” who are popping anti-psychotic medications all shift! Don’t argue with me; that’s damned near a direct quote! Sphincter thinks the ONLY jobs at FAA are the ATCs! Undoubtedly, many disabilities can be accommodated for control tower jobs, but there are 40K other jobs at the FAA! Jobs for engineers, systems analysts, IT experts, metallurgists, investigators, file clerks, and janitors…every one of those can be accommodated!! A leader of a large organization would know that, which is why Sphincter Face doesn’t!! 🤬🤬
