Holding the Country Hostage. Again.

Time for a rant since I’ve been behaving nicely lately.

This is getting … hell, has gotten(!!!!), old! We are staring at hours left for Congress to get their act together on a CR that will keep the government open and save a whole bunch of people from having an “I’m broke” Christmas, and an “I’m broke and can’t pay my bills” life.

Where in the f*ck do these people get off on doing this? I estimate we are up to a total of 3 times (and counting) that *someone* has held the country in limbo because … simply because they could. I’ve left messages for my representatives to Get. This. Done. Otherwise, there isn’t a damn thing I can DO *except* wait. I can’t go knock heads together, I can’t get into a meeting of Congress and verbally knock sense into people so that they Get. This. Done. At least people on Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid who NEED this will have it continue if the worst happens. Does Congress not think of anyone but themselves (or tRump)?

The country doesn’t have the ability to Get. Things. Done. We can only sit and cross our fingers or pray, everything and anything like that, because someone has their head up their ass, (hello Orangutan who wants a shutdown in Biden’s last month in office so that history will look at him poorly, and will not include all the good things he did). Y’all? He (meaning Biden) has NOTHING to do with it. The decision does not rest with him.

And speaking of the Tangerine Palpatine, who the f*ck does Elon Muskrat think he is? Yea, he’s ridiculously rich. So? He is NOT a government official and should NOT have any say in this thing. DOGE is NOT a government agency – yet HE and/or tRump are tanking the bills that Congress has made so they have to re-do it again, and again, and again. Why does he have that much power when the Mango Messiah isn’t even in office yet??!! Actually, why does he have that much power in the first place? I’d like to remind you of a CR (I think) that Congress hammered out a few months ago, but it didn’t pass because people are too scared of the asshole known as Trump and he said don’t pass it, and they didn’t. I remember during his term when the government was shut down for days because of his ego. He “bravely” stayed in the White House to try and make himself look like he really cares for the country when it was actually for his personal satisfaction and to get people to come to him and kiss his ass to beg to get the country back on its feet. ((Please note this is what I remember – it’s not in current news.) Plus, bonus, this dick *will* be back in office soon. GAAAHHHHhhhhhhhh.

I actually almost feel sorry for Speaker Johnson. He has to not only try and get people to agree, but he’s staring at the train coming at him at faster and faster speeds because he’s going to lose the Speaker position. Only almost, though, because he is in a mess of his own making.

Much as I might want to, I can’t give up even though DonOld is coming into power. I love our country and that’s a damn good reason to keep going. Midterms are in 2 short years and we need to take back Congress. So don’t give up, folks, because we are BETTER than that.
