I’m sitting here looking at the title of breaking news on CNN, and I am so angry I can barely see straight, let alone type. Apologies in advance for the cursing.

“Elon Musk shares with millions of followers the names of federal employees he wants to cut”. WHAT the holy FUCK.

“DOGE“ – although I prefer to say DOG” isn’t even completely formed yet. It’s not going to be a government agency, just something to see if there’s bloating in the government that can be changed. It’s NOT going to BE a government organization. It’s advice only. So where the FUCK does Musk get the idea that HE can say who gets fired. And WHY did he post it publicly? So that people “have been warned so they can look for other jobs? We are, supposedly, having many new jobs being created, but I personally have submitted over 200 applications and gotten nothing but crickets (silence). NOTHING. And we’re adding thousands of people to fight for jobs too? Plus, some jobs are so specialized there might not be anything AVAILABLE in their field. Elon Mush … er … Muskrat … uhm …Musk (suggestions welcome) is trying to control people’s lives like he is some sort of demi-god. Nothing gives him the right to decide who gets gone. That’s not his job and will not BE his job. DOGE can make recommendations and nothing more. Unfortunately, it’s highly likely that (unless tRump finally pushes him away and ends the bromance) Elon and Vivek’s “suggestions” will happen. They (hopefully) won’t have the power to fire people, again, as I said, because this is NOT a government branch.

I just can’t understand someone like Elon playing with people’s lives as if they are pieces on a chess board. And on a side note, consider all his businesses that have gotten government assistance! He uses, abuses, and throws away his people in all his companies. Now he thinks he’s moving into government where he has no need and no power to do ANYTHING.  This is the sort of shit that leads our government down into hell. And it will BE in hell when tRump gets into power. He wants to be a dictator for a day (ha), and Elon wants to be a dictator, but sure as hell NOT just on day 1.

Here’s a headline that should stun you: “Several public employees say they’re afraid their lives may forever change as Musk makes behind-the-scenes bureaucrats into targets.” Some of the people who’s names were listed have already gotten death threats and had to move.

Elon is burning his bridges in front of him.  One final thought. Musk, self-proclaimed ‘mister free speech” got all in a snit when some student got known for posting tracking data on where Musk’s private jet was flying in the U.S. (FYI tail numbers can be found as publicly available data on FAA and other websites) He went on a CRUSADE to silence that young man. Seems like Musk felt he was being ‘doxxed’ but I don’t remember it causing any rise in threats to him beyond what any other rich/famous person deals with. The point is his hypocrisy.  Dare we hope he’s broken laws with what he’s done? Dare we really?

  1. This seems like an extension of The Apprentice. “You’re fired!” is TFG’s management style. Elmo is just the mouthpiece until TFG is out of the way.

Again, we see the 3-ring circus format. We are being distracted and inflamed to anger, so it’s difficult to be focused on the real dangers.

The news cycles keep us spinning, eventually burning us out. We never seem to get control of our share of the narrative.

In this battle, we must cling to the wise words of Marc Elias, Ruth Ben Ghiat, Timothy Snyder, Jim Stewartson and Heather Cox Richardson and follow their directions. Stepping back on a regular basis will help to keep from getting sucked in. It’s a mind game.

    • If my personal information were posted by a person who is not in an official role yet I would think people should start to personally sue the rat. Now if I got death threats his family would get death threats.
We are in an era created by people not pushing back just as forcefully if not more than those that do not obviously respect law and order. They are bullies because they don’t know how to handle insults directly. They need to be bullied and have their life threatened as well.

  2. Hey, you FBI employees who will be called upon to vet Trump’s nominees, don’t forget that you are being threatened with being fired after those nominees are confirmed!

  3. 80% of Americans are C, D, & F students. It doesn’t mean they’re stupid; it means they’re lazy; anyone can become an A & B student with effort. On January 6th, 1816, Thomas Jefferson wrote: “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.” I would never let an uninformed person operate on my heart, let alone clean my teeth; why would I let this person play a part in determining the fate of my Nation? Democracies never survive because it’s easy to manipulate ignorant people. We need another type of system. I find it interesting that either ignorance or AI superintelligence could destroy our system when we have both co-occurring. It reminds me of TS Eliot when he said, and I paraphrase, “Where is all the knowledge we were supposed to gain from all this information, and where is the wisdom we hoped to gain from all this knowledge?” So, to sum up, we have a supposedly super intelligent guy, Elon Musk, who owns three supercomputers, Colossus, Dojo, and Cortex, who disseminates purposefully alerted facts to sway ignorant followers to his worldview. Geez, I wonder if he has an ulterior motive… and what is he really planning?

  4. “Doge” is an early Renaissance word meaning something like “absolute ruler of a city-state.” The Doge of Venice is the one most people have heard of, but Genoa and other city-states of the period had one too. I’m sure that was what Elno was thinking when hw came up with it. He’s not subtle.

  5. I suspect it isn’t going to be that easy to just fire many of these people. I’m sure quite a few of them are working under a contract that would give them the right to sue over an undeserved firing. At least they’ll be able to keep it all tied up in the courts for a few years, hopefully.

  6. I sure hope all you Magats are happy. You have elected the world’s greatest criminal and given him the keys to the city when all he deserves is a bullet to the tiny little brain that he has.
