Justice, as in real consequences for the misdeeds of powerful and rich people always takes too long. If it comes at all. In part it’s because such people can hire very, very good lawyers. It also helps when they were once part of the system that doles out justice to us ‘lesser people’ and know the cracks in the system and how it can be exploited. Still, it takes good lawyers, sometimes great ones for the rich and/or powerful to avoid serious trouble in court and Rudy Giuliani has started leaking more than what looks like worn-out transmission fluid from his head. He’s now leaking legal representation!

According to this short article from The Hill the lawyers Rudy’s been using have bailed on him. I know it’s been crazy since election day but surely you remember the shenanigans going on that was in the news prior to that awful day.  Rudy losing again and again in court and being ordered to turn over assets.

It turns out he’s been playing some serious games with the court which is pretty damned fed up with him. The judge knows damn well Rudy’s playing games and milking the system and about to formally hold him in Contempt of Court. That COULD result in incarceration although it didn’t seem like the judge was ready to drop that particular hammer.  Now? I think ole Rudy might be closer to a stint in Riker’s Island’s notorious jail than we all thought:

Attorneys Kenneth Caruso and David Labkowski cited New York’s rules that allow attorneys to withdraw when they have a “fundamental disagreement” with their client.

They also cited provisions allowing withdrawal when a client insists upon presenting a claim that can’t be supported in good faith and when a client “fails to cooperate in the representation.”

The attorneys had asked to seal their written requests entirely. U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman declined to do so but did agree to redact certain details, saying it involved privileged information. Liman still must accept their ask to withdraw.

What I found particularly interesting in the linked article wasn’t so much the “fundamental disagreement” with their client noted above. It’s that both of Rudy’s attorneys (who filed separate motions almost a week apart) asked that their motions be sealed. U.S. District Court judge Lewis Liman denied the request. However he did redact portions of the filings saying they involved privileged information. At this point Liman hasn’t made a final ruling on accepting the request for withdrawal.

Why does this matter? And why might Rudy be closer to going straight from the courtroom to Riker’s at the conclusion of his next court appearance? In my own proverbial ‘reading between the lines’ Rudy’s attorneys have told him it’s over. That he needs to give up and fully cooperate in handing over his assets. Instead he’s gotten them at least partially involved (if only by telling them what he’s done or plans to do) in dodging the court’s orders. Lawyers can get sanctioned and even disbarred for that kind of stuff. Hence their desire to be done with Rudy and his legal woes.

I’m sure Rudy’s lawyer’s notes will reflect all this and even if someone is putting up serious money on his behalf to pay them it’s not good enough for them to want to be in the same zip code as Rudy anymore.  They want out. Now. Before they find themselves needing their own lawyers.  From where I sit they have likely told the judge enough that if Rudy hasn’t turned over all manner of stuff he’s been ordered to turn over to the victims of his lies about election fraud he’s headed to jail.  Just in time for the holidays!

I seem to be getting more mean spirited by the day but I can’t help it. I LOVE the thought of Rudy sitting there in a jail cell at Christmas. ‘Enjoying’ a lukewarm Christmas dinner of crappy jail food. A few slices of canned ham or turkey that’s close to the expiration date with some instant mashed potatoes or boxed stovetop stuffing. Some green beans that got boiled without a bit of salt or pepper in them. I don’t know about you but THAT warms MY heart.

  1. I don’t feel like you are being mean. We have all seen the nasty, mean things that he’s done and it seems overdue for him to face the music and make some recompense.

  2. If you can’t pay the dime, don’t do the crime!! Or something like that! 🤪 Speaking of bankruptcy news: The LA Times reported this morning that as part of the Sandy Hook judgment against Alex Jones, his “Infowars” site was up for auction…the highest bidder and new owner is “The Onion” satirical site!! 🤣🤣 Sometimes there can be joy in the bleakest of times!! 🤩

  3. Well this and the sale of Alex Jones’s infowars to THE ONION WITH HELP FROM THE SANDY HOOK FAMILIES is giving me the warm fuzzies today. Maga tears are flowing over infowars. Not like they will when the tariffs and deportations increase prices through the roof, massive layoffs occur, and the silly magats cannot afford a carton of eggs nor a loaf of bread (alas, neither will we). But I’ll take what I can right now. I have been playing the A$$hole song because it makes me feel good. Im a liberal Democrat so I’m an a$$hole. Along with the F@ck donald tRump song and a few other songs that bring a smile to my face. But THIS stuff sure does help me get over last Tuesday. There is a very long road ahead of us. I’m trying. But sometimes what we have had to endure at the hands of magats in person and online over the last several years has made at least me a bit unhappy and perhaps very angry. I’m working at it. Gave up editing this. So I’m sorry……..

    • It’s been since 2016 we’ve seen the hypocrisy of our legal system IN SPADES, and now he’ll walk on EVERYTHING. I doubt even Ms. Carroll will ever see a dime. Hell, our new dictator could throw her into a camp and what would AG Gaetz do? Throw away the key. Trump’s your new king. Me? No phucking way. I won’t go into details but my noncompliance has been in effect since 2016 and until/if democracy is restored, they can take a flying phuck at a rolling doughnut. The LAW? Just as full of self important shit as the tv evangelicals. More so since preachers don’t make rules backed up by guns.

    • Aaahhh, yes, MAGA is going to see how Trump tariffs result in improving the economy. This evening CBS News interviewed an importer of small appliances who described how the air fryer that currently costs him $30-40 would go to $80-100 should the tariffs go into effect. When asked about the manufacture of the air fryers being relocated back to the U. S., he explained that there are no domestic factories capable of doing so, adding that building and getting one up to speed will take several years.

Also entertaining will be the howls of protest from the gamers when the price of their consoles, which are all produced in China, go through the roof (hee hee hee hee hee hee hee…..)
