The results of the 2024 election will be pored over for many years to come. There are a number of reasons that that is true. First of all, do a mind game here: pretend for a moment that you know nothing of the winning candidate. He’s just a guy. Then you want to take a look at the math. Trump lost in 2020 by 7 million votes, and he lost the popular vote by about eight million — but then, suddenly, in 2024, after being convicted of 34 felonies and declared an adjudicated rapist, he’s ahead by 13 million votes. Whut? That’s what a lot of people are saying.
Trump says four weeks ago: "I don't need votes. We have all the votes we need. " What Candidate says anything like that-ever?

Seriously, what candidate says that? And I thought at the time that it was pretty strange. Now we don’t do conspiracy theory here, but we do speculate. Is it possible that Trump had a situation where votes were purchased in swing states? I have no remote clue. What I do know for a fact is that he did speak openly, “I have plenty of votes,” and he did speak to Mike Johnson about “our little secret.” And I don’t know anything about what their “secret” could be.
Now I grant you, it would take some kind of a Bondian-level scheme to buy up all kinds of votes in swing states. So maybe that didn’t happen. And let me be perfectly clear, I do not want to erode trust in free and fair elections. That has to be the cornerstone of our democracy. If there is one silver lining to this misery it’s that Trump has stopped with the stolen election drivel. This is a great thing. It restores us to believing in elections and their transparency and integrity.
But something did shift and shift alarmingly. Maybe a certain number of Independents and Democrats simply didn’t show up to vote for Harris. Because Trump has fewer votes than he had in 2020, but Harris had lots fewer votes than the 82 million that Joe Biden pulled.
As I said at the outset, political scientists and analysts will be exploring this for many years to come. And maybe we should use Occam’s Razor. A vote is a privilege. A ballot is also a possession. Any one of us could have sold our ballot for “x” amount of money. Not saying that it happened that way, only saying that Trump’s narcisstic braggadocio makes you wonder what exactly did happen. How could he have been so sure?

Just saying. And let’s state an absolute here. There were a lot of extremely wealthy people who had a vested interest in Trump being elected. Maybe somebody put together a vote-buying situation. In all events, we do know what came out of Trump’s mouth, his certainty. It would be good to know what that’s all about. Whether we ever will know is debatable but this is food for thought.

It also seems pretty obvious to me. We have years of him screaming about electoral fraud, and then just before the election he states “We have all the votes we need” like in some way, the ‘fix is in’.
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. It’s now absolutely the right time to insist on inquiries into EVERY vote count.
And don’t come back to me about ‘Eroding trust in elections’. Trump won despite saying he wants to get rid of elections – how much more eroded can trust get?
Bring on the investigations. Now.
My thinking is, that with all his noise about election “rigging” the government would really like to say this election was fair and secure and in the history books. They may be reluctant to do any investigating. I agree, though that this should be looked into.
Start with muskrat buying votes in PA. How many other states? And how many other millionaires? The Washington post is another example of wealth swaying the vote. But as much as I would like to have hope, all this does is make maga come out swinging harder. Like the one who posted on twit that if you posted anything on line against emperor fat f@uck that we should be prepared to die. Nice talk.
My suspicions kicked in immediately. Not just vote buying, but all the shenanigans with voting machines, burning mailboxes, all those goobers vowing not to certify votes for Harris, voter purging and disqualifications over perceived signature issues. They pretty much said they weren’t going to accept a Harris win and I really hate to say it but deep in my gut, I believe they rigged it.
