Here’s the scoop: “The Government respectfully requests that the Court vacate the remaining deadlines in the pretrial schedule to afford the Government time to assess this unprecedented circumstance and determine the appropriate course going forward consistent with Department of Justice policy,” the filing said according to the screen capture from Politico’s Kyle Cheney.
This takes place admist a socially charged and legally questionable situation where Trump is expected to free the incarcerated felons who attacked the Capitol on January 6. 2021 and pardon them.

The central question that everybody is asking is whether the January 6 case can move forward and be tried before January 20. I have no idea. But clearly Jack Smith has a game plan. It will be intriguing to see how this pans out. Meanwhlie, we read about how the January 6 prisoners are “ecstatic” and one of them is even demanding the lectern that he walked out with during the riot.

“We are on the cusp of a prisoner exchange,” Derrick Evans, a former West Virginia state legislator who served three months in prison for storming the U.S. Capitol, wrote before the polls had closed on Tuesday. “Swapping patriots for traitors.”
At 1:39 a.m., when it was evident Trump would win, Evans wrote: “I can’t imagine the excitement from my fellow Jan 6 prisoners who are still in prison tonight. Hold on, guys… you are coming home!”
Adam Christian Johnson, who served a 75-day sentence for stealing then-House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s lectern on Jan. 6, posted a video of himself on X at 1:46 a.m. popping the cork on a bottle of champagne. He captioned the video: “I. Want. My. Lectern.”
Another convicted Jan. 6 offender, Eric Clark, replied to Johnson: “When we go to DC to get our pardons, we’re all going to ask Trump to let you take the lectern home with you. You’ve earned it.”
Who knows if Trump will give him the lectern? We live right now on the cusp of we know not what. We live in a situation where we’re going to find out how much of Trump’s blather was precisely that, or what he actually intends to do. And along with what he intends, what will he actually be able to accomplish?

Trump might SELL him the lectern after reminding him that he got a “free” pardon.
Obviously, Clark doesn’t know his idol as well as he seems to think he does.
Here we are, almost 4 years later. Nothing has changed. Trumps face has been in the media every single day. If you didn’t know better you would have actually thought that he did win. Anyone with even a pea for a brain knows that this election that he just won had nothing to do with anything other than him running scared and hiding. He was not man enough to go through any more cases against him. Hell you would have thought him being found guilty of sexual assault (I’m being nice here) and election interference would have been enough for even the ink that goes on the ballots to run scared. But instead we just said “meh. He’s a good guy and didn’t mean anything he’s done or said. Let’s give him the keys to the big White House, throw him a paycheck, and give him another chance”.
I don’t know what it’s going to take for people to see him for who he is. If he doesn’t scare the living hell out of you, he should. Perhaps this time he will burn the whole building down

Everything I’ve read still says the cases are DOA, this one just won’t officially end until December rather than now. Maybe my little brain cannot process this stuff the same as everyone else. The cases cannot go forward to court. Not law, just “procedure”.
Trump might pardon the J6 insurrectionists, but they aren’t getting their jobs back. They aren’t getting their wives/husbands and children back. They aren’t getting back one penny of the money they spent on lawyers and court fees, etc., nor one second of the time they already spent in prison. I don’t think this is the big win they’re claiming it is. Plus, none of it has happened yet. We all know how reliable Trump is.
I’m not going to swear to this, but I thought I heard/read that tyrant is going to give them some sort of settlement. Could be wrong. I’ve read so much in the last thousand years.
My concern regarding insurrectionists getting pardoned is the safety of the prosecutors and judged after these animals are let out. it is not beyond the realm of possibility that they will seek vengeance. After all, trump has said they were all treated very unfairly. Doesn’t that translate to the insurrectionists believing they have every write to avenge their “unfair treatment “? And if they can’t get back their jobs or their families or their money, where does it leave them? I’m thinking maybe with a thirst for vengeance, coupled with a belief that if trump pardoned them once, he’d do it again.
We shall see how many get freed by Trumpler. After all, he doesn’t need them now. In his world view, if you’re of no use to him, you’re of no use at all.
Smith’s actions up to now, have proven to contain special legalize I have no knowledge of, IANAL, BUT, given his huge package of evidence, collected against DJT, already released in a safe mode for witnesses, the Government can, if they want, go ahead with a prosecution rapidly, and their desks will be covered with various notes and actions planned to, with the help of an honest judge, ruin Trump’s plan to destroy our Country and anyone that has wronged him in his micro mind …
