Election nights are interminable. This one already feels to me like it’s been going on for days and the polls are still open in a lot of western states. The election coverage is already getting nuts, I am sad to say. The Hill just sailed an email into cyberspace announcing that Donald Trump had taken North Carolina. Maybe according to them, or some guru or oracle that they have on staff, but nobody else is close to calling it.
Then we hear that Kari Lake is calling election fraud down in Arizona. Wonderful. Let’s get the strait jacket people chiming in. We don’t have enough to deal with right now just tabulating the early returns, we’re starting to hear from the mental ward of the GOP. With that backdrop in mind, here’s what John King at CNN had to point out about how Harris has a substantial lead in a county which has been a bellwether in previous elections.
Again, many things are subject to change, but this is a good sign that Harris may indeed take Pennsylvania and that would simplify matters greatly. With this in mind, there are people saying that Trump is likely to take Georgia and North Carolina. Possibly. It’s a bit early to call. But even if Trump did take those states, if he loses Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, and the blue dot in Nebraska, then Harris wins.
And again, let me repeat, Pennsylvania is just now counting the live vote. And Trump is behind, there is no red mirage — yet — as was feared earlier. So if Harris’s lead holds in Pennsylvania and then the mail-in and early votes are tabulated, this could be an excellent development, one greatly to be wished for.
The election has not come down to being a nail biter. Not at 10:00 p.m. ET, in any event, Maybe by two or three in the morning.
I’ll tell you what my new vision of Hell is. Forget about Dante’s circles. Hell is where you go if you’ve been a bad political blogger and it’s always just past sunset on the west coast and it’s always Election Day. And you just sit there, bleary eyed and exhausted from the Eternal Campaign and wonder what’s going to happen, what’s going to happen…….

I quit watching my usual blogs online as everyone is freaking out and I try to tell them that right now it’s just the in-person votes that are being counted and we need to wait for the early and mail-in’s to be counted to know for sure what is happening. So I just want to chill until I do know.
even if Trump wins Arizona he’s going to come up short. Harris will win just not by as much as we would have liked. I think the popular vote is going to be close as well.
3 EC votes from Nebraska went to Trump.
Trump is leading by 117,000 in Pennsy. And in Michigan.
Trump 210 EC votes, Harris 91.
It’s not over ‘til the cat lady sings.
