Responses like: “Women are dumb AF, repeal the 19th.” This from a guy with a Black face but I can’t think of a single Black person who would say something that asinine and particularly in this context. She must have struck a chord because there were numerous cracks about her being “gay” and a “three-cat lady” What do they have against cat lovers? I’ll tell you as a lifelong cat worshipper, you cannot go wrong living with cats (or dogs) but you absolutely can go wrong living with a guy or gal who’s not the right one. But I digress. This gal did what she could, both at the polls today and I suspect her entire life. And that’s all any of us can do. Meanwhile, the alpha male in this race, the guy who cosplays at McDonald’s (earning that particular McDonald’s a health code violation) and almost falls on his ass cosplaying a garbage truck driver, is playing around appearing in blue state venues for his own whacky purposes. His most valuable commidity right now is time — and he’s squandering it.
The use of the campaign’s most precious commodity—time—on unrealistic targets owes largely to one reason: ego. The former president thinks he can win both states, despite private data showing otherwise. And as campaign advisers have repeatedly said, this is his campaign, and if he wants to rally in New Mexico, Virginia, New York, California, or anywhere else, he will.
“We’re the Trump campaign: we’re gonna go where the fuck we wanna go, and too bad if you don’t get it,” a senior Trump adviser said when asked about the blue-state rally schedule.
The two campaign stops are one of the purer distillations of how Trump is operating in his third White House run: both imbued with confidence and thirsty for a blowout victory that would quiet any critic who claims there is a ceiling to his political appeal.It is a tactic driven more by swagger than pushing figurative pawns on the Electoral College chessboard.
But beyond vibes, the blue-state swing is also a tactical headfake to make Trump seem like a winner who is expanding the map, said a Republican operative familiar with the campaign’s operations. As evidence that it was largely illusionary, the operative noted that GOP polling shows Trump down about 12 percentage points in New Mexico and 7 points in Virginia (polling averages show Vice President Kamala Harris leading by 7 and 6 points, respectively, in the two states).
“He’s doing a strategy of inevitability. Trump’s audience isn’t in New Mexico or Virginia. His audience is a swing voter who is one of the few undecideds in the swing states who are moved by the idea that, ‘holy shit, he’s winning in Democratic states, I’m going to go with the winning team,” said the operative, who didn’t want to go on record dismissing Trump’s chances.
“It’s all a show. The presidential election is about who gets the biggest share of media attention every day. And he’ll get more coverage going to Albuquerque, New Mexico than going to Milwaukee, Wisconsin again.”
Wouldn’t it be something if Kamala Harris and Tim Walz got 90 million votes? Or over? And if Trump got his same number of votes from 2020, 73 million? Or less? Just spitballing here, just fantasizing, admittedly. But wouldn’t it be something if Kamala beat him by a sizeable victory AND a solid electoral advantage, say 400+?
We can always dream. Turn out is the key. And if Trump wants to waste his time in blue states, fine. Maybe what that indicates is that he knows on a deep level that he’s not competitive so he might as well fritter away his time. There’s no way to win, anyhow.
Tomorrow Trump is back in Michigan and Wisconsin and then he’s going Saturday to Salem, Virgina. And hopefully tomorrow (Saturday at the latest) a new appearance calendar will be posted for Sunday and Monday. Or, maybe Trump will play golf.
Trump will get less than 73 million this time. Lots and lots of Republicans are disillusioned. And more died of COVID because Trump was stupid.
Yeah, attrition shrunk the number of his cult followers, and (many, MANY) more of the newly registered are NOT MAGA. And, the numbers of disillusioned Republicans is arguably greater than the Bronze Bozo imagines (In his mind, he hasn’t lost a single one) – I know a guy who voted Trump in 2016, but said, “No way!” in 2020, and I’m sure he won’t support him this time, either.
Published speculation here on PZ and elsewhere online says these blue state rallies are intended to set the stage for the next round of “Stop The Steal” rallies that will lead to another attempt at a J6-style uprising.

I read for a long time all of the comments on twit. Except for all the merchandise ads for the orange wannabe dictator and a Very FEW negative magats saying that this wonderful, brave woman was a snowflake (and worse!), the remaining comments that I could read were very supportive and agreeing with her about the emotion and the enormity of a vote for VP Harris. I am limited in what I can read now because muskrat thought gotv postings were enough to throw me off his newly purchased toy. I was shocked that more magats didn’t reply. I was also very glad. Like she and others said, we cannot go back, we fought too long and too hard, and too much, including democracy, is on the line. She’s a realist who suspects her vote will not count, but I’ll wait until the votes are all in and counted. Women are voting in extremely large numbers and I’m hopeful that their men are standing with them and voting BLUE! The tRump signs are outnumbered about 10 to one here in NH around where I live, except in a the sign clusters at intersections. This is the first year since that cretin has been running that this is the case. I sure hope it’s a good indication, rather than laziness on the part of magats. They may not have signs up to throw off the Democrats. The signs were up when President Biden was running I am cautiously awaiting the actual vote tally. I think, and hope, and pray that magats MAY be surprised that registered GQP are voting for Democrats and Democracy. Praying hard.

Alpha male? What alpha male? I do not see ANY alphas (or betas, deltas, gammas, etc. lol) anywhere in the magat movement. I do see a bunch of whiny little bitches, the worst one colored orange. I came from s solidly Dem household( Dad voted for Reagan, and regretted it several months into Raygun,’s first term; Mom told him.she cancelled out his vote by supporting Carter). But even if I was GOP, there is no way Trump could have gotten my vote. I lived in NY for 5 years. I knew too.much about the rapist.
