Donald, poor Donald, he’s feeling so sad, his own party hates him, and you know that that’s bad. It’s interesting how long the chickens take to come home to roost sometimes. We saw something new in 2015, the emergence of Never Trump. That’s the first time ever that a portion of a political party has fragmented itself off from the main portion of itself and decided that a given candidate was completely unacceptable. That was nine years ago that that happened. And we have seen American politics go through quite a change as a result.
The image you see above is from CNN — and yes, I hear the screams of FAKE NEWS!! coming all the way from the east coast as well. But here’s the part that you may not be picking up on and this is hilarious. I’m sure you’ve been reading the same stories I am about Republicans voting early in great numbers. And yes, if they were told to do that, then they’re doing what they were told. BUT — here’s where it gets good — if in fact the GOPers that are turning out early are part of what CNN surveyed, (and admittedly, that’s a presumption that we’re making) then THEY are voting against Donald Trump.
And that well could be. This Harris/Walz ticket came out of the blue. Team Trump was defaulted to deal with an aging Joe Biden, so “weak” “frail” “demented” “clueless” “doesn’t know where he is” all of those pejoratives were set to roll. But Joe pulled a whammy on them and stood aside. Trump was the least prepared of anybody in his camp for that eventuality. That’s because Biden did something that simply is not in Trump’s makeup. Trump would never step aside out of a concern for the greater good of party or country. If he had that in his makeup, then for the good of the GOP he would have stepped away long ago.
But he doesn’t and so he didn’t and now the GOP and Trump are going off the cliff together in their deranged suicide pact.

Let me be clear: I’m only posting what I find on social media and making projections. But all these ideas are reasonable. You can’t say this isn’t reasonable when we’ve seen incredible crowds turn out for Harris/Walz and we’ve seen Trump/Vance get along riding on the fumes of past glory.
And it makes perfect sense that the polls would be neck and neck and the media running its usual horserace narratives.
Now this *poll* is being challenged because if you look at the top it has a plus or minus nine points of accuracy, which is tantamount to saying that it’s worthless. But people are loving it on Twitter because it reflects the zeitgeist of the moment. This is what we feel in our hearts is real, watching the tremendous outpouring of people and love at Harris/Walz rallies.
We don’t have much longer to wait to find out the truth. That much is certain. That’s about all that’s certain in this topsy turvey Through The Looking Glass election.

“Team Trump was defaulted to deal with an aging Joe Biden, so “weak” “frail” “demented” “clueless” “doesn’t know where he is” all of those pejoratives were set to roll.”
And now, worse, they apply to him.
“And now, worse they apply to him.” They always DID! Hillary was much more fit both physically and mentally (and emotionally) than Trump in 2016. The same was true for Biden in 2020. And this spring for that matter. For some reason there was virtually no reporting on Biden having injured a foot some time back. It wasn’t a bad one and he had to wear a walking boot but by his own admission Biden didn’t fully comply with his doctor’s orders during the healing process. That’s why he doesn’t move with the same spring in his step he used to.
Having injured one of my own feet in a fall a year ago, and already being disabled (including prone to bad falls) I can relate. I DID follow all the instructions but frankly have never been the same and I’m only in my late sixties and not eighty (plus) like Biden. He gets around a helluva lot better than I do! If Biden and Trump were to play even nine holes of golf together, WALKING on a FLAT course like at Haines Point on the Potomac in DC after just a couple of holes Biden would be fine, shuffling along and joking with his caddy. Trump would be sucking wind. Even with a caddy to haul his clubs for him there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell Trump could walk even nine holes.
But the bottom line is that Trump was weak, clueless and frail from the time he sharted his way down his fake gold escalator. It wasn’t quite as bad but he rambled and often went off on nonsensical tangents even then. Which suggests the dementia symptoms which have become increasingly clear were already starting back then.
Biden has been prone to verbal gaffes his entire career. It’s why he was probably far better off going into politics than being a lawyer unless he practiced pure “paper, corporate law.” What, since becoming President journalists have LOVED to seize on has been part of what Biden’s always been. They know this. They KNOW it but they have hammered him for it anyway and given Trump’s increasing incoherence, mispronouncing of words, forgetting and/or confusing names of people, inability to remember basic fact and history a pass. Trump could NEVER have painted the narrative in people’s minds that has been painted about Biden without a consistent and HUGE amount of media help. Or rather complicity.
Trump crazy brought ratings and therefore revenue. Biden making things normal and “boring” cost them and ALL that mattered to the bosses (and the “talent”) was the bottom line and their bank accounts. Yes, Biden had a very, very bad couple of hours during that debate. It was a combination of an insane amount of overseas travel and dealing with crushingly difficult diplomacy, getting sick after he got back home and what was frankly shitty debate prep. I assumed Biden would have been prepped to treat Trump’s fire hose of lies and bullshit the way Harris did and had he done so Biden would have come smelling like a rose.
But it was what it was. No one could pretend it was anything other than a disastrous performance. Yet while all that was going on Biden was working on a big prisoner swap that involved more nations than just the U.S. and Russia to get done. But he pulled it off. He was also preparing to host the NATO Summit in DC which went off without a hitch and Biden showed he was still a master at THAT. Then that press conference. Journalists were EAGER to be the one to hit Biden with the proverbial “kill shot” and he handed them all their asses. It was a master class in knowledge of policy and handling tough, complicated questions. They didn’t lay a glove on him.
And THAT was the guy even leaders in his own freaking Party had come to view, thanks to Trump and the media as “old and out of it.” It was worse than what the Party did to Jimmy Carter. However in retrospect given how public perception had been shaped over a couple of years Biden could still I believe have won with his Party offering full-throated support but they were mostly gutless. It was only when Biden realized he was in Jimmy Carter territory with a Party that didn’t want him leading it that he stepped aside.
Fortunately it’s hard to imagine a better person and candidate that he could have handed things over to. Remember, at that crucial moment when only an hour after withdrawing Biden endorsed Harris SHE wasn’t exactly the Party’s or the media’s darling. She’d served her boss well but stayed mostly in the background and it was easy to take shots at her. That includes Democrats angling to, when the time came leapfrog her when we had to pick a new Presidential nominee. Well, they too can suck it.
And if there’s any justice in the universe by this time next week we’ll be talking about and celebrating that Kamala Harris will be President-Elect Kamala Harris. Trump has had epic meltdowns but we will I think be in for something that could be shocking. Like Wicked Witch of the West melting shocking.
A margin of error of 9% is quite high, but so are the % differences.
(60% – 9%) = 51% still beats (38% +9%) =47%
Finally, a true poll with factual truth.
Couldn’t have said it any better, that is “… people are loving it on Twitter because it reflects the zeitgeist of the moment. This is what we feel in our hearts is real …” Bravo!
