The irony is something. There are speakers showing up today at the Madison Square Garden MAGA rally who have cautioned Kamala Harris against inflammatory rhetoric. Mike Johnson is one of them. He accused Harris of inciting people to do violence to Donald Trump because of her accurately depicting him as the fascist that he is. Yet despite all that, what we are hearing from the podium is blatant racism. And this is supposed to be okay apparently.

According to Trump the illegals are staying at “luxury hotels.” How does that work, exactly? Can I get a reservation at the Ritz Carlton and when they ask for my credit card I just say, “Oh. I’m an illegal,” and then they say, “Yes, Ma’am, we’ll give you the penthouse suite, coming right up. Gratis, of course.”

I’m old enough to remember that it was explained that Howard Dean lost because of this kind of yelling/shrieking bombast. Now it’s the new abnormal, I guess.
This is the MAGA version of statesmen and representatives of the arts. Trump hasn’t taken stage yet. We’ll see what that looks like. It’s not likely to get any better but frankly, I don’t see how it can get worse. On the other hand, I’m not sure how much worse this can get.
I was always told to avoid having MSG in my diet, it’s unhealthy, raises blood pressure and shortens lives.
