Again, I point out to you the basics of this Through The Looking Glass election we are observing. The GOP nominee has empty seats at his rallies and people leave while he’s talking. The Democrat has five times as many people as a venue can hold wanting to attend her rallies. You’ve seen the same TV footage that I have. Harris/Walz rallies are packed to the rafters and the energy is incredible. Trump/Vance rallies are a variation of George Orwell’s Two-Minute Hate. Trump’s warm up act is Stephen Miller or Vivek Ramaswamy. Harris has Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen. In whose shoes would you rather be?

Now what makes this doubly, triply interesting is that this is in Texas. Yes, I know of the perennial wet dream of flipping Texas blue. I have long dreamt it myself. But in fact, we are inching towards that. Harris is in Houston mostly to boost Colin Allred and a crowd this size is one hell of a boost, I’m sure you’ll agree. Ted Cruz is wetting his pants right now and doing an emergency podcast from his bathroom. We may see the end of Teddums. Wouldn’t that be something?
Pop superstar Beyoncé will appear with Vice President Kamala Harris at her event in Houston on Friday evening, according to three sources familiar with the plans.
Beyoncé is also expected to perform, said one of the sources, who has direct knowledge of the preparations. The Washington Post first reported the news of Beyoncé’s appearance.
Beyoncé, who is from Houston, will appear as Harris has welcomed other musicians, like Bruce Springsteen and Eminem, to the campaign trail.
She has racked up a slew of prominent celebrity endorsements since she jumped into the race in July, including those of Taylor Swift, Charli XCX and Billie Eilish.
Beyoncé is not often involved in politics, but she famously sang the national anthem at President Barack Obama’s first inauguration in 2008 and performed at a rally in Ohio in the final days of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2016.
Though Texas is not expected to be competitive in the presidential race, Harris will rally there amid a tightening Senate race between Republican Sen. Ted Cruz and Democratic Rep. Colin Allred, who is expected to attend the rally.
Singer Willie Nelson and Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, are also expected to appear, Harris campaign spokesman Ian Sams said on X.
On Thursday, singer James Taylor, whose performance at the Democratic National Convention in August was scrapped because of time constraints, is expected to perform at a rally with Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, in North Carolina.
A great many good things are happening at once here. Harris will have a packed venue to talk about abortion rights, Colin Allred will have a tremendous boost from this rally, Ted Cruz will be wringing his hands and wailing, some sane Republicans (“sane” defined as non-MAGA) will be mingling with Democrats and hopefully voting that way. And Texans get a free Beyonce concert. Can’t beat that.

Lose his mind? Come on Ursula…how can he lose what he never possessed? His interior life is as barren as the surface of the moon.
I read somewhere, that Texas isn’t deep red, just voter suppressed. It makes sense to me.
Right now it seems like tyranny of the minority. Here’s hoping this election wakes up the majority of people who don’t vote.
yup, this voter suppression has to stop, throughout the country, these corrupt election deniers have to be held accountable, there has to be a law to stop this un-American activity,
I do have one question about this: how many of those sign-ups did so just to see Beyonce? She’s pretty famous although I have no idea what demographic she appeals to, not being a fan….or quite frankly even knowing what songs might be hers. lol
Start with her Freedom song!
