This is another moment that you need to see, because only seeing is believing. Donald Trump stood up before a group in Detroit today to talk about economic conditions. And instead, he whined about the unfairness of life. Now pull back a few feet and get this fully in focus, in your mind: This guy was born to dazzling wealth, like the yous and mes can only dream of. Most people were born many many stratas below where Trump was born. We don’t have multiple homes, many of us don’t own a home. We rent, have rented and will rent the rest of our born days. That’s not an unusual phenomenon.

We certainly don’t have gold toilets or private airplanes. We don’t have rich daddies who buy our way into college or out of the draft. We don’t declare personal bankruptcy seven times. We don’t get away with assaulting/raping women — until one brave woman finally stands up and tells the truth and then more follow. in short, Donald Trump has had more handed to him, for doing nothing, than any three or four dozen normal people can think of earning in one lifetime, working as hard as we can. But it’s not enough. Listen to this.

Can you believe that? Now you’re going to see something even more stupid.

Whut? I guess people are just supposed to look at him and admire him and take pictures? Or something? I can’t guess because I don’t have a frame of reference for this. I have never seen a *politician* or any public speaker for that matter, just stand up on stage while music played in the background and do nothing. But yes, from this vantage point, even, it still went downhill and got worse.

I was in California a few weeks ago, and it was still booming and bustling. My friends didn’t say squat about power outages. Maybe he’s thinking of Texas and their grid.  I don’t know this desolate, sci fi dystopian hell of Trump’s imagination and I lived in L.A. for 39 years.

I have to say, Trump’s last crack simply floors me. I can’t imagine painting a grim picture of the future and saying, “The entire country will be like _______” (fill in the blank with the listener’s home town.) That’s tantamount to saying, “You live in Hell. Your home is a shithole. The worst case scenario is that this country would turn out to be a shithole like where you live.” That’s how I hear it. In fact, I can’t think of an entire city anywhere in the United States where that comment would fly.

Let’s put it this way: people tend to love their own city — or they move. I lived most of my life in Los Angeles and a lot of people hate Los Angeles. We all knew it. We didn’t care. We were happy with what we had. And those of us who weren’t, went elsewhere. The only reason I left L.A. is because housing is so very much more affordable in Las Vegas. I’m very happy with what I have here. I cannot afford what I have in Las Vegas, in Los Angeles, or I would have stayed there.

The point is, that when you’re speaking in somebody’s town, when you’re a guest, you don’t depict the place as a real dump. Nobody wants to hear that.

Sometimes I wonder if Trump is trying to throw the election. Sometimes I seriously wonder if he’s going out of his way to make sure that he loses. Because this is just plain stupid for him to go places and offend people like he does. Or, maybe he doesn’t know he is offensive. Maybe he thinks that they *love* how Trump “tells it like it is.” Maybe so, if somebody else is the butt of the joke, but not when you are.

Let’s see how Michigan votes. That’s all we need to know. Michigan voted for Trump in 2016 and for Biden in 2020. Let’s see what they do next month. I’m willing to bet that Chris and Susie were tearing their hair out listening to this speech today.

  1. America…this? this fat ass fascist pampered baby is YOUR choice to lead the free world? Maybe some of you do deserve the gallows…not just Qtip Pence.

  2. Next it will be the Aliens working with the Democrats to send hurricanes and tornadoes to MAGA districts. If they’re out there, I wish they’d do us all a favor and just beam him up.

Well, then again, who would’ve ever thought that ANY Republican, much less their very own candidate/nominee for the Presidency, would’ve embraced the slogan of “Make America Great Again?” If a Democrat had suggested such a slogan, they would’ve been crucified for the mere suggestion that America was not currently great (and that crucifixion would’ve come from their own party to keep the GOP from using it against the Democrats in general). Hell, the whole ideology of the GOP–even to Romney’s run in 2012–was the continued belief that America was not just “great” at that moment, but would be “great” for all time (even when America wasn’t exactly “great” for all of the people living in America, the GOP’s belief was that America was still “great”).

  4. Not to mention the fact that he has to wear pull-ups and he poop’s in them and wears them all day , I have read he has terrible body odor and he wears the same old blue suit every day
