Vance Ally Knifes Him, Gives Walz Ammo For Tuesday Debate

We may have a lot of October surprises. As you know, Jack Smith has submitted an oversized brief which we are told contains information not before seen in the January 6 matter. That case is moving along. Now today we find out that a recipient of highly damaging messages from J.D. Vance denigrating Donald Trump has released these messages to the Washingon Post. My take on this is that Vance has painted himself in a corner. I believe that either a moderator or Tim Walz will confront him with this and how he’s going to wriggle out, on camera, in real time, is yet to be seen. If you recall, Vance does not do well with some of the TV news hosts who have asked him sticky questions. He won’t do well if either the moderators bring these negative comments up — or Walz, as part of an answer to another question.

The critical messages, shared with The Post by their recipient on the condition of anonymity because of concerns about retaliation, cast doubt on Vance’s oft-recited account of how and when he embraced Trumpism. They were written years after Vance’s previously reported remarks attacking Trump, such as his statements in 2016 that Trump was “reprehensible,” “cultural heroin” and possibly “America’s Hitler.”

In a statement, Vance spokesman William Martin said Vance’s 2020 assessment of Trump’s failure to deliver on his economic policies was not meant as a criticism of the former president, but of “establishment Republicans who thwarted much of Trump’s populist economic agenda to increase tariffs and boost domestic manufacturing in Congress.”

Martin added, “Fortunately, Sen. Vance believes that Republicans in Congress are much more aligned with President Trump’s agenda today than they were back then, so he is confident that they won’t run into those same issues within the party.”

Vance’s campaign did not respond to questions about his prediction that Trump would lose the 2020 election.

While Martin said Vance recalled the 2020 exchanges, he criticized The Post for not identifying the person who disclosed the messages and for not sharing with the campaign the entirety of the conversation, portions of which were withheld to protect the person’s anonymity. Martin said The Post was engaged in “nothing more than unethical journalism.” […]

The exchanges are further evidence of Vance’s penchant for engaging in prolific and sometimes incautious dialogues with digital pen pals, including a 20-month texting conversation with the far-right blogger and conspiracy theorist Charles Johnson.

The problem here is that there’s too much negative data on Trump which Vance has put out into the world. We live in a technological age where tweets, texts, videos, all of it can come back to bite somebody at a later time. That’s what’s happening to Vance. It’s entirely possible, probable in fact, that one of the moderators will ask Vance, about his comment made in February of 2020, “Trump has just so thoroughly failed to deliver on his economic populism (excepting a disjointed China policy.)”

Or his comment, “I think Trump will probably lose,” which he wrote in a message in June 2020, “a few months before ballots were cast in an election that Vance would later claim, falsely and repeatedly, was stolen by the Democrats.”

I would not want to be J.D. Vance in the upcoming debate on Tuesday. He’s got too much dirt on him. I have long been of the opinion that Tim Walz will mop the floor with the guy and I see more and more support for that idea with each passing day.

  1. On the floor settled with ingrained dirt n fur balls of Vance, he’ll be given the bloody good cat lick he deserves by Waltz. Waltz should also concurrently and deftly mop Vance into the gutter, so as to irretrievably cause Vance to diminish, and lessen the horrid significance and impact of Vance’s political and other views, his self-importance, and any perceived value. Vance, hopefully, post this debate, should be brow and body beaten sufficiently to politically pale into insignificance, and retreat back into the boonies where he belongs.

    • Walz will kick several shades of shit out of JD, but the scumbag won’t slink off into obscurity. Such folks never do. They have no shame nor any real comprehension of their own humiliation.
It’s all a game to them, a game in which they assume everyone’s doing what they do: cheat. Lie. Steal. JD’s biggest worry at the debate is his audience of 1: Trumpler. If he can’t sleaze his way out of his previous never-Trumperisms, somehow/anyhow, Trump could make his life pretty miserable going forward. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
