There is a pattern forming in Trump world for the past few days. The GOP nominee has been reposting the video of his assassination attempt over and over. Now, Melania Trump comes out with another video addressing the “heavy silence” surrounding the incident. What heavy silence? The matter immediately went before Congress. Unless…”heavy silence” is a euphemism for “I know that the Biden administration did this and probaby it was Kamala’s idea personally.” That’s where Donald Trump is going with this. And Melania, for once, is only happy to lend a hand because if it will sell her book (which drops October 1) then she’s only too glad to line her pockets.

It’s no wonder this woman is the source of SNL skits. She talks about everything, whether it’s the time of day to her husband’s assassination attempt with exactly the same amount of passion — which is logical, because they both mean the same to her, a trivial passing moment. The android man on Star Trek, Data, displayed infinitely more humanity and caring than Trump’s WINO (wife in name only.) And of course the conspiracy theorists are on top of it. I don’t know what’s in Melania’s book but she’s not going to eat the entire CT pie by herself, oh no, she’s got to share.
Oh, puh-leeze. This guy wasn’t alive when JFK got shot in the head. I was. And I can tell you that that was the most consequential week in American political history at least since FDR declared war on the Empire Of Japan. And that opinion came to me via a number of people who had been alive then. This is MAGA sales going on right here. For the cult, there was no history — no political history, in all events — prior to Trump. And now Melania has found a way to make it work for her and the cult is on board for that.
Melania’s “bringing the heat.” And the irony is, if there is enough MONEY in it for her, oh hell yes. She’ll find her way clear to go to Congress, do whatever is necessary if the money keeps pouring in. Let’s see if that happens first.
If you’re in the mood to sail over to Trump’s Truth Social On Twitter account, you’ll see how he’s pushing this. And Rick Wilson said in his newsletter Monday, “Trump is waving this bloody ear pad on this one rather vigorously, stoking one of the few things his base finds genuinely motivating. I predict Trump will directly accuse VP Harris and the Biden administration of trying to have him killed [at the debate.] While it’s a far-right field assertion, madness at every level, and a ludicrous lie, I sense it coming.”
Far be it from me to argue with Rick Wilson. He’s been right too many times. And definitely we see the foreshadowing on social media. So expect this to be one wild moment in tonight’s debate, a convicted felon accusing a former prosecutor of his attempted murder — while they’re both running for president of the United States. If you saw this line on a poster for a movie you would laugh hysterically and keep walking. But you can’t keep walking because this is your life.

The difference between DATA and ‘Melanie’ is that DATA was more than knowledge and intellectual capability. He actively sought to be able to experience true human emotion. Eventually a chip was created that allowed him to do so. Of course, there wound up being issues so a capability was developed for him to deactivate that emotion chip when prudent! Frankly, I doubt Melania actually cares about her son. She sees how Trump’s evil spawn from his marriage to trophy wife #1 immersed themselves in Trump World and likely wants Barron to do the same. So SHE can as his mom ‘market’ herself and grift a little more from association with Trump. Via use of her freaking son!
Well, Ursula, I don’t know much, but I do know this: if you are an immigrant who has been in the US for years…most of that time nowhere near other Slovenian immigrants…your accent does Not. Get. Thicker!! I imagine she has a language coach on retainer to help thicken her accent before speaking engagements! You know what we call that in real America? WEIRD!
Nope, Sorry but I’m gonna have to disagree with your cynicism a bit Cleora. My grandmother arrived in Montreal in the mid 1920’s when she was VERY young, and she kept her Ukrainian-Yiddish accent right up until she died in /97.
From my experience, some of those accents people were raised in never go away, especially the Asian and Eastern Euro ones, both of which I am very familiar with.

Also, if she spoke her native language with her parents and was teaching it to her son, then her accent would stay the same or perhaps get thicker. Just from knowledge of people I know in my personal experience.
Of course. When I was a kid, all the older people I knew had Yiddish accents, though they had immigrated decades earlier. So much so that when we moved a few blocks away and I met our new next-door neighbor, Mr. Silverstein, a man of similar age, I was puzzled by the fact that he spoke English without an accent. It didn’t seem right, somehow.
I don’t think you have taken into account Cleora’s important qualification:”… most of that time nowhere near other Slovenian immigrants …” All these relatives of mine, and I suspect yours — Montreal having had a significant Yiddish-speaking population for more than a century, up to the present — socialized with each other constantly and continued to speak Yiddish as well as English every day. My grandmother on one side and my great-grandmother on the other, never learned to speak English at all. Mr. Silverstein would be an example of someone more like what you would expect.
On the other hand, there are certain circumstances where a foreign accent will persist and even intensify even in an English-speaking environment. Like when you are playing a role. Like maybe in Hollywood. Greta Garbo is a great example.
Somehow I don’t think Melania’s “revelations” will make much of a stir outside the MAGA cult community. She may be one of the few people in this world with less credibility than Trump himself.
If she were divorced from shitzi or he were dead, I’d say we might get a smidgen of truth. She isn’t divorced nor a widow so I am inclined to say there will be very little, if any, truth in this book of hers. It is coming out at an interesting time so I think that perhaps she had little to do with the writing of it.
The only ‘heat’ she ever brought was when she was doing porn…and a phuck me doll from Japan brings more personality. All that glitters is not gold.
We need to see who actually “wrote” her book. Some flack, obviously, but I’m wondering if it was someone in-house: betcha Stephen Miller would have loved to be the one. And I’m wondering how many pages it might have, aside from the photos of course. Given the sheer emptiness of her life thus far, I can’t imagine her filling many blank sheets of paper. But the RNC will shed loads of money to make it a “best seller” as it did for Jr’s pathetic tome.
I have yet to hear anything accurate from her about that staged “shooting” event yet so I’m not expecting anything now. She wasn’t watching it live. When she did open that ignorant yap of hers it was pretty obvious she wasn’t paying any attention to the video footage–enough to see she was still saddled with shitzi and nothing more (if you all remember she “saw” the bullet. Newsflash: she didn’t). Sure, this will give the magats more of what they want-they love them some lies from these idiot trumps-but that is all. Even some of the less bright people in this country will see this for what it is-another attempt at the pity vote–boo hoo von shitzi tried to make it look like he has a pair.
