We knew we didn’t have to wait long for the blow back from the orange whale and indeed we were right. The profound stink of Trump ambergris is tinged with terror (not to mention diarrhea because he’s really losing it today) and so that makes it all the more rancid. And it’s not going to get any better. Trump let slip a key point or possibly two, that he really should not have. All he’s done is show what his fears are and underscore how precarious his legal position is. It was expected that he would mention the timing of the recent legal paperwork by Jack Smith, to wit, 1. the appeal of the dismissal of the classified documents case and 2. the superseding indictment in the January 6 insurrection case.

Trump is screaming on social media right now that Smith is wrong for doing this right before the election but where that falls apart is that he should have his lawyers explain to him how Aileen Cannon, with her actions, set into motion deadlines and timetables that just happen to be inconvenient for Trump and his election bid. And maybe his lawyers should confess to him how they did everything they could to prevent trial before the election but they can’t work a miracle and stop these cases altogether. Oh, well. Look at his bloviating and then I’ll tell you what point I think is key here.

I see two key points here. The main one is the fact that Trump keeps insisting over and over that the Florida classified documents case was “fully dismissed.” No. If that case had been completely resolved, one way or another, and “fully dismissed” there would be a Request For Dismissal With Prejudice on file, meaning the case is now res judicata, over and done with and cannot be appealed. There is no such thing.

Now either Trump’s lawyers have lied to him, which I seriously doubt, or he is so terrified of the classified documents case that he has willed himself to believe that it was dismissed. I believe the latter. I think that he put it to rest in his own mind. Remember, this man is a master at developing his own fantasy world. At this point, he believes the 2020 election really was stolen from him. And yes, I believe in his heart of hearts he knows it wasn’t, but that’s what’s uniquely psychotic about Trump. He can hold the truth of something in one part of his brain and his fantasy concoction in another part and believe them both.

The other point I wish to point out is that when Trump brays “They are the ones who did the obstructing,” (meaning DOJ, I’m sure) he conveniently forgets that HE was the one in charge of that particular DOJ. Merrick Garland was nowhere in sight at the time the incidents in the insurrection case took place. So this is further self-damnation.

But of course Trump can’t see it that way. This ambergris spew of bloviating blather is merely Trump raging and venting over forces he can’t control. He’s a farcical version of King Lear, raging into the storm at an ingrateful world that doesn’t appreciate him.

Blow, winds, and crack your cheeks! rage! blow!
You cataracts and hurricanoes, spout
Till you have drench'd our steeples, drown'd the cocks!
You sulphurous and thought-executing fires,
Vaunt-couriers to oak-cleaving thunderbolts,
Singe my white orange head! And thou, all-shaking thunder,
Smite flat the thick rotundity o' the world!
Crack nature's moulds, an germens spill at once,
That make ingrateful man!

I hope the Bard will forgive me taking license with one word, I couldn’t resist. They’re all ingrateful. Poor Donald. He’s not appreciated. And they’re all coming for him. It’s so unfair.

And here’s the obvious and glaring bottom line: Trump is freaked, with a capital F, over both these developments and certainly right in the countdown to the election. The developments of the past two days have shaken him to his core. And it’s given Kamala plenty of ammunition for the September 10 debate.

  1. Well, since it seems that von shitzinpants isn’t going to show up, V.P. Harris will have the ammunition but it will be for more of an interview by the moderators. Either way, von shitzi is toast.

    • He confirmed today on both Truth Social and Twitter that he would debate Harris. Apparently cooler heads prevailed and he was informed he HAD to debate her or look simply horrible. He doesn’t want to and it will be his Waterloo, but he has no choice.

        • “Horrible” in this context means “MAGA won’t approve.” MAGA wants him to go kick Harris’s butt. And Fox News will spin it that way even if Trump keels over and has to be carried out. But at least he has to show up and put in an appearance.

  2. “ Smith is wrong for doing this right before the election…..”

Seems to me the simple solution is if one wants to run for President, one should not commit crimes leaving one up for possible indictment…….rite Lardass???

    • It’s worth noting that that DOJ POLICY (not a law, just a policy) of not engaging in things that might impact an upcoming election is clear – 60 days. There are more than 60 days until the election! Second, Smith had no choice but to respond to judge Chutkan’s order to both his and Trump’s team to her order for a status update. This is Smith’s response. Just like if she orders more production from either side between now and the election they have to respond. Once a matter is actually in the courts the only thing DOJ can do is either obey the judge or risk contempt or even having their case tossed.

Trump created his own pile of shit and now he’s stuck in it.

    • He keeps going on about the case in Florida being “fully dismissed.” No. Nothing is fully dismissed until it is settled and a Request for Dismissal with prejudice is filed, which means that action cannot come back to court. It is history. It is res judicata. But that’s also inconvenient for Trump so he lied to his disciples that the case was “fully dismissed.”

  3. And there lies the problem “… Aileen Cannon, with her actions, … just happen to be inconvenient for Trump and his election bid…” In this matter, it’s Ms. Cannon.

  4. Cannon Mouth has only done what Trump told her he wanted done, except, as a country-living minimal educated judge, without one tenth of Jack Smith’s court trick inventory, she is becoming more of a flagrant miss-deed Judge getting under a few people’s skins with her stupid decisions to give trump what he wants without the solid evidence of reasons to let him have freedom from responsibilities for his freaking capitol-level crimes, any signs of treason, and Trump has plenty, pulls the punishment cycle even closer to incarceration without possibility of parole and a minimum of 20 years in prison …

Poor Trump, he JUST cannot shut up, letting the courts/Smith do what comes naturally, lighting that long fuse to the powder keg of truth over in the corner, the one that will knock Trump on his ample ass …
