Interesting phenomenon taking place right now. Donald Trump is fearmongering campaigning in the swing state of Arizona. There is nothing in what he says which is adaptive to the 2024 election as it continues to morph into something slightly new day by day. Elections are prone to do that. Especially in the last three months of an election, as the polls tweak one way or the other and the granular points are honed, candidates routinely change their day to day pitch to accomodate what they believe to be the decisive issues that voters are wavering on.

But not Trump. He is simply doing his Catskills lounge stand up routine with the same old tired material. The only new spin he’s putting on anything is to get slightly more psychotic than usual, as when he proclaims that he knows that Democrats are all in favor of his mass deportation scheme because he sees it in “their body language.” Oh yes. This is one of his nuttiest routines yet, for the simple reason that he is not only unenthusiastic and repetitious, but he is utterly non responsive to what is going on this week with the DNC and the polls. This is a first yet I believe that’s how this is going to stay.

You’re getting the flavor already and it only gets worse. Trump is not campaigning. He is mouthing talking points in a bored fashion because he is bored. I also think he may be partially sedated because his blood pressure is probably sky high with the stress of his upcoming criminal trials, the fact that Truth Social is petering out daily, and the wrong direction that the polls are going. Now this next one I love. If anybody can understand this, tell me and I’ll pay for the information.

“They do their own media, they don’t need media.” Sounds kind of like Dr. Suess doesn’t it? The cat in the hat knows a lot about that. Same offer as before on this next piece. I’ll pay somebody who can translate.

Maybe Fox cut out suddenly like that because Trump was saying something that was not true and they don’t want another lawsuit. There were no “gaps in the wall to be sealed.” There was no wall. Maybe there were a few miles of wall, but not across the entire Mexican/United States border. But as Trump himself has said (and he’s also quoting Joseph Goebbels) “if you repeat a lie often enough people will believe it.” Now this next one is so strange, it’s almost self parody.

This recitation from sheets of paper in a notebook is supposed to compare with the passionate rhetoric of the Democrats how, exactly? What I really believe is that on some level Trump has given up. He’s just waiting for his campaign to produce some kind of a miracle for him and unfortunately, a campaign can only do so much for a bad candidate.

Tomorrow is when RFK, Jr. bails. Let’s see what that spin does to Election 2024.

  2. Folks from the Congo now huh? That is a bit of a schlep. A wee bit expensive too. Not sure how much the coyotes charge to bring people up from Honduras, etc. but I’m pretty damned sure a trip from Congo will be one hell of a lot more expensive.

    • Absolutely. I think I can quote it from memory: “It’s amazing that he even exists. It’s as if you took everything that was bad about America, scraped it off the floor, stuffed it in an old hotdog skin and taught it to make noises with its face.”

(looks closer at the sheet of paper) It was a WHITE American rich guy? Oh shit. That’s ME! Someone slipped what I did to E. Jean Carrol into my notes!’

    Most crimes in this country are committed by Americans. In fact, the percentage of crimes committed by undocumented people is LOWER than it is with American citizens.

  6. On TV news they asked him about security briefings that candidates receive. He says that he doesn’t take them, because he already knows what is going on. He also said that “they give you the briefing and the next day they leak it and blame it on you. So I fixed that, I don’t take the briefings.” He’s a flipping genius, ok?
